Publisher's Summary

The deadly hunt ends in the fourth and final installment of the best-selling Trackers saga.

The mountain town of Estes Park, Colorado, is scrambling to recover from the betrayal of two of their police officers, and prepare for threats outside their borders. But with Chief of Police Marcus Colton imprisoned by rival Sheriff Mike Thompson, the job to protect the isolated town is left to Sam "Raven" Spears and newly promoted Captain Lindsey Plymouth. They will do everything they can to bring Colton home and save their citizens, but one thing is certain: a war is coming to Estes Park, and no one will be spared from the horrors.

Across the country, Secretary of Defense Charlize Montgomery continues to lead recovery efforts in the wake of the arriving Chinese workers and soldiers. But the threat of foreign soldiers on American soil isn't the only problem - the Sons of Liberty and other domestic terrorist groups continue to rise to power, enacting a wave of violence and chaos that threatens to derail the recovery efforts.

Will Raven, Colton, and Charlize save the United States from collapse? One thing is certain - they won't be able to save everyone. Not with their humanity still intact.

"Great end to a great series"

Exhilarating story from start to finish. I really enjoyed the audio performance as well. As with all of this author's series, each book improved on and enhanced the overall series. Looking forward to what is next.

"Stark-Raven Mad - A fine conclusion to the series"

    - Josh here

And the journey into the North Korean EMP attack continues with this fantastic conclusion to the Trackers series. I must start this review out by stating that while I enjoy Nick's work, I am disheartened that this is his second series to be brought to a conclusion in the last few months. Don't let these comments detract from the fact that these endings were both fantastically written.

As I said above, this is a wonderful closure for the journey of Colton, Charlize, Raven, and many other characters. As is typical in Nick's work, the action ran high throughout this entry and the ending definitely left me feeling emotionally drained. Nick took us on an unprecedented journey that feels more predictive in nature than it does a work of fiction. Although, I will say, I am noticing an Avery Monsen tendency in these closures (Google the name, you'll see what I mean).

For those that have followed the series to this point, you know where we left off with Colton, General Phoenix, and Sheriff Thompson. As various renditions of the human psyche played out throughout this book, I stopped to wonder about the level of research that went into developing these characters. Such a dynamic range across this series ranging from the moral conflicts of the protagonists, the outright evil of the various antagonists, and the citizens of Estes Park who were stuck in the middle.

There were some very uncomfortable parts that felt quite dark in nature (The forced interaction with Hacker and Theo, for example - Fegan's incident later in the novel, etc.). The way US citizens would react to an occupying force such as the Chinese highlights another reality which I feel many citizens would simply not be prepared for.

Without going into much detail so as to not spoil the book for others, this is a fine conclusion to the series. As said above, however, this leaves me feeling a bit empty as this is the second series Nick has wrapped up shop on and I know some of his others are nearing that point too. In short, my hat goes off to Nick for this corner of his multiverse of stories. My hope is that this one remains an act of fiction and does not transition to reality as I mentioned before. 5/5 and a must read for fans of his work, this series, or post-apocalyptic books.

    "Best book yet!"

I loved the first book in the Trackers series, and although I didn't think it was possible, each book gets even better! I went through such a roller coaster of emotions throughout Trackers: The Damned. Events with the Sons of Liberty and Sheriff Thompson's crew are coming to a head. Estes Park has to unite and fight for their survival, while they face the reality that not all of them will make it through alive.

Meanwhile, Secretary Montgomery and Albert are dealing with other challenges, so her plans to slaughter Fenix are somewhat on hold. The Chinese have come to aid in the recovery efforts, citizens are attacking Chinese and US Soldiers, and Charlize is tasked with finding a new location for the government. When she finds out the Sons of Liberty's whereabouts, Estes Park is already in trouble. Although she's willing to help them, she may be too late.

If you like post-apocalyptic fiction, you need to check out this series! The Audible version is fantastic. Bronson Pichot brings the story to life, making you feel you are right there in the middle of the action. Excellent narrator!

    "Another worthwhile read "

    in the trackers series!
You grow to love these characters and there are no slow parts to this book, nothing that lost my interest.
Just makes you want more! And ask,
    What next??
I was captured by the action scenes and brought to tears by the loss of hero's!
Bronson Pinchot works so well as narrator.
Try this series, you will be glad you did!

"Fantastic conclusion to the Trackers series!"

Trackers 4 wrapped up this post apocalyptic story about North Korea destroying the infrastructure of the Unites States by setting off nuclear EMP blasts over key cities. The end was very satisfying although with somewhat unusual circumstances. Definitely an excellent, too near to real life fiction that really hits home in a big way!
