Summary

The Mistborn trilogy has become a firm favourite with fantasy fans the world over. The imagination that Sanderson brought to the series and his skill at marshalling epic storylines and dramatic action, plus his ability to create vivid characters, made him a natural choice to complete Robert Jordan's epic Wheel of Time sequence. But with Mistborn, his stand-alone fantasies, and his new series, The Stormlight Archive, Sanderson has shown his bountiful talents in his own fiction.

Now he returns to the series that made his name with a new story set years after the events of Hero of Ages

In a world recovering only slowly from evil, a world where allomancers wield immense power through their ability to unleash the magic bound up in common metals, someone who can burn metals that no-one has burned before can tip the balance....

Sanderson has the knack of giving epic fantasy listeners exactly what they want. This ability has thrown him to the forefront of the genre and the dramatic story within The Alloy of Law shows off this skill to its very best.

Great continuation

Love what Sanderson does with his plots across books in a series. He sets up a scenario and delivers a great yarn, then with the next book reveals all is not as it seems. This is Mistborn all over.

Great listen!

I loved the original Mistborn novels, so I was really pleased to see Brandon Sanderson had decided to add more to it. While the basics in this novel are the same as the original series, it does have a totally different feel to it - totally different time/different characters etc, and wile some may think this is a typical spin off that is aimed at making more money off the back of the originals success, they would be wrong. It could have been a great stand alone story even without reading the previous novels (although it might have been a little confusing), but having read the previous novels allowed a much more thorough understanding of the universe the book is set in. Great listen - thoroughly recommend

Most excellent

I love crime novels, and this is like Brandon Sanderson x crime novel, so the best of both worlds, really!

Another amazing book from Sanderson.

Brandon Sanderson has done it again with this epic story. Completely hooked from the get go. Also, Michael Kramer is an absolute Godsend. He has this incredible talent to bring any story to life.

Excellent writer & excellent narrator.

Not Sandersons best work... But good.

If this was the first that I'd read of Sanderson, I wouldn't be hooked. It's not his best work but it's definitely still a good read. The rating reflects the quality of his other work more than the quality of this one.

Meh

Compared to the first trilogy, this book was underwhelming. Wax didn't interest me Wayne was okay. I think the westerner theme is what put me off about the book. The main character is a coin shot that using a gun seemed like a bit of a waste.

Audio failure

Everything was great. But there were 2 parts where the audio messed up so the words were jumbled or scrambled
