Summary

I saw you, and I knew instantly that I could grow old with you. We'd be future-proof.

When Rachel and Aidan fell in love, they thought it was forever. She was a brilliant, high-flying scientist. He was her loving and supportive husband. Now she's gone, and Aidan must carry on and raise their daughter alone. But Rachel has left behind her life's work, a gift of love to see them through the dark days after her death.

A gift called iRachel.

The After Wife is an emotional story about love, loss, longing and belonging. For fans of The Time Traveller's Wife, Me Before You and The Lovely Bones.

If this isn’t what a novel is all about I don’t know what is. Wow!

I bought this book on a whim for something to read in all honesty I don’t often review if I enjoy a book great if I don’t I’m sure someone else will, this truly is what the power of reading is about, I started of thinking ah I’m not into robots, well was i wrong this is an absolute gem, it’s a beautiful emotional roller coaster that you really don’t expect not only was it a pleasure to read when a book leaves you thinking about it and opens ur mind a little that’s truly special I honestly can’t express how much this book meant it’s just stunning I can’t recommend it enough.

Hugely Interesting Concept

A well thought out, well executed novel that takes AI to its ultimate conclusion and looks at how that might possibly work in real life. Real life Rachel and iRachel both had endearing qualities, but the traditional role ascribed to iRachel made her so vulnerable. In fact, I felt a closer connection to iRachel and I think that was a very clever twist by the author. Cass Hunter created a human that most of us would aspire to and a robot that most of us could relate to. Beautifully written and highly emotive this is an unusual and unique look at what might be to come. I'm not sure if we'll cope with it. Highly recommended listening

Really slow...

After the introduction of iRachel, nothing really happens. It was just so slow. I couldn't finish it.
