Summary

Kyle Riggs has been away from Earth for a long time… but that's about to change.

In Storm Assault , the eighth book of the Star Force series, the story moves in a new direction. Massive fleets are built by both Star Force and the Imperials - but there is a third player in the game: the Blues.

A three-way battle for the known star systems breaks out, with the fates of many worlds and species hanging in the balance. Riggs realizes he must destroy his enemies before they destroy him. Seeking justice and revenge, he gathers his strength and ventures out on a mission of conquest from the Eden System. Humanity must fight to survive, and Riggs is the right man for the job.

Storm Assault is a military science-fiction novel by best-selling author B. V. Larson. To listen to the series in its entirety, start with Swarm (Book 1).

Interesting story, but frustratingly sexist.

I like the Star Force series, story is interesting, I like most of the elements of building forces and fighting and aliens. However the personal story of our protagonist is so sexist, it's frustrated me to the point of wanting to put it down many many times.

Narrator Mark - Perfect delivery as always.

I’m not sure why I’m still following this series

The plots are interesting, but I can’t stand the characters. Riggs is an obnoxious a**hole with god complex who is switching between multiple women seemingly only based on their proximity. More annoying are only his officers who question every single command without providing any alternatives only based on their feelings and mood swings no matter how logical or inevitable the command is. They also lack any character arc what so ever being the same person since they are introduced.

love this series

Already downloaded the next book. The narrator is fantastic he has all the characters with their own voice so the story is easy to follow. Can't wait.

Another fine installment

The story of Star Force continues. the storey us well paced and the narration is good with recognisable character voices for the narrator.

A great story continues

The well established plot continues from previous books. We lose some favourites and gain others. All this while walking the tightrope of disaster and kicking arse. Some nice plot twists to boot.

As good as the rest

Exciting return to earth with a few twists. The Melvin robot continues to be humorous. Great lead up to the stories conclusion. Look forward to starting the next.

best of the lot

sadly it will only really make sense if you toil through the ups and downs of the preceding books...

Not the best of the series but still great

The adventure continues in its own high energy way, but somehow it didn't match the previous books. Perhaps because they return to the well trodden theme of Earth and Jack Crow and they've done that too much already. I much prefer it when they're off discovering new world and species.
