Summary

They call it Kirk's World, a once vibrant planet reduced to a post-nuclear horrorscape because of James Kirk's failure to obey the Federation's most important law: the Prime Directive. But was Kirk really responsible for the destruction of the planet Talin, or was some other, far more sinister force at work? While a bearded, exiled Kirk struggles to regain the command of his ship, his former crew membrs are banding together to fight for their honor and their careers. The future of the Enterprise is at stake - and the truth of Talin's Armageddon is far more frightening than anyone can imagine.

lots of gaps

Moved to quickly and didn't develop the storyline. Had me asking for more detail and had me hanging.

Big Star Trek story, not well condensed

I read this story many years ago, and liked the character development, rich story line, and intricate plot. Well, it didn't translate into a 90 min script, and just lumped together a bunch of unlikely alien features that made an unremarkable story. The narration was great, though, Scotty (Doohan?).

Without James Doohan this book would fail flat!

James Doohan made this great! This was my 3rd time reading it. The alien was - poor.

Interesting story, but too abridged!

James Doohan is a great narrator, but so much of the plot was cut. Chekhov and Sulu's entire subplot was dropped! A reare instance where I recommend reading the paper copy!

Great fun!

It is such a treat to listen to James Doohan - as charming a performer as ever in this narration. It is a good story and very professionally done. It is true to all the original characters and has a very original feel to it. Highly recommended to all Star Trek fans, and even if you only sort of liked the show - It really is fun to listen to.
