Summary

When Aaron and his friends got sucked into the virtual reality game World of Ruul, they quickly realized the only way out would be to acquire all eight soulstones and beat the game.

Unfortunately, they've somehow managed to incur the wrath of the Skeleton King, an ancient warrior whose vengeance can only be quenched by blood and death.

Now, if they want to survive long enough to find those soulstones, they'll have to find a way to stop him.

And I Jack, the Skeleton King chase after gems

OK. I have to start of by saying that George the Bunny is Aaaaaawwwwwesssssoooommmme. That wascally wabbit cracks me up. Oh, and I know some people get offended by all the cussing, cursing, and swearing and all I can say is suck it up buttercup. Not everyone has delicate sensibilities. I appreciate a good swear, and try to fit some in to my conversations whenever I can. So don't go crying that you ears or eyes are burning from this book.

Now, let us start with the good stuff. J. A. Cipriano continues his Soulstone story with a lightning pace. This time the gang is really up to their necks when the Skeleton King decides that he wants them all dead. So, they have to get their butts in gear and do some digging for the soulstones. The action is tight and the drama and tension build with each page. Cipriano knows how to write action and keep your attention. The only problems that I see is that book 3 is going to have some issues as the team gets divided, and there is the small matter of a great new character, Sabre, who has some seriously cool powers. I also wish that Aaron would just listen to the rabbit one time!!!!!

Nik Magill narrates this with utter class, no one can quite swear like him. He really knows how to put a spin on a swear, and proper inflections for cursing. I love his George, and his voices for everyone else are top notch. This cat can narrate!!! Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.

Could have been a good story

I'd like to preface this by saying I'm a former active duty Marine, and current truck driver. So when I say this author uses an excessive amount of profanity, I'm not someone who has never been around profanity. As my former master sergeant would say... "Boy, you need to buy a dictionary and learn some new words." He was an old farm hand from Texas.

All of his characters quickly become the same inter changeable one dimensional character. No matter the book, setting, storyline or background.

Plot holes, bad writing, one dimensional characters, skip this one

Book 2 is just as good as book 1

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I really enjoyed book one, so I was just as eager to jump on the opportunity to listen and review book two too. As with the first book, there is great dialog, plenty of sarcasm, and an entertaining story line. The narration was pretty good as well. All in all, a great listen. Now I just have to wait for book 3...

good yo

finished it quickly, only disappointment was the class choice. I feel like every litrpg I have read is another necromancer/dk.

great book

the book is great but I personally don't like hearing the stats of every single summoned monster it puts a damper on the action.

A terrific book with wacky characters and fast paced action

Soulstone: the Skeleton King is the terrific second book in the series. The story is lots of fun with its wacky characters and fast paced action. The ending, while very good, is a bit of a downer. I look forward to seeing how it all works out in the next book!

I listened to the audiobook which is excellent. The narrator really brings the characters to life!

Contains lots of "adult" language and sexual conversations.

I received a copy of the audiobook as a gift. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Deeper and deeper we go

Just like the first, loved this one. Lots of cliches here and there, most work and some just seemed like filler. Love how its like a more adult young adult book, with all the innuendos and jokes, cuz when your life is on the line.. jokes may save your mind..

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher

The adventure continues.

The Skeleton King is the second book in the LitRPG World of Rull series by JA Cipriano and while I think I enjoyed book 1 more, this was still a great addition to the series and I can't wait for the next book. Loaded with plenty of action and fun characters (George the bunny is the best) this is definitely a series that any fan of LitRPGs should check out.

Like the first book in the series, this volume is narrated by Nik Magill who once again does a tremendous job bringing the story to life.

Litrpg new to me good for you

Ok this was a good book a little weird and a little funny it had good character development my favorite part was when the main character stopped whining and finally just accepted his fate and became the bad add his gear allowed him to be. Over all the game world is very reminiscent of the starter area of world of warcraft."This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
