Publisher's Summary

Walt and Oz need to level up to survive and every moment is going to hurt.

Walter LePointe and Oswald Blackwell just woke up inside of the online role playing game Realms of Th'loria. With no memory of how they arrived, Walt and Oz soon learn the hard way that living in an epic fantasy world isn't all it's cracked up to be. As level one characters with no skills or experience, nothing can prepare them for their new lives as they prepare to enter the realm.

"Pretty good with just one big annoyance"

Overall this book is pretty good. Kinda a standard litrpg but the characters are pretty original, if not a little weebo, but whatever. There are three people the work at the game company they test the new gear at a party. I like the characters and they have original dialogue.
Now the only thing that really ruffled my feathers was his choice of weapon. Now I know books like these like to be unique and no one wants to use a standard long sword. But there is synergy in weapons or atleast the weapon matches the user. This guy is a mage.. a kinda flabby one. yet he chooses a mace for little other reason then well thats what I arbitrarily picked up so I guess ill just keep using this hunk of crap. Id get it if he was a fire mage and used arrows or a wind mage and a rapier to cast haste or a dark mage with a dagger. But a mace with a guy that has long range attacks and has the physical stamina of an 11 year old girl...theres my piece.
Aside from that rant this is actually a good book and worth getting into; especially after the latter books come out.

    "Addictive! Fun! Great story. "

I received an ARC of this audio book. I loved it! Imagine playing your favorite video game. Now imagine reading your favorite book. This book combines the two so realistically that you feel yourself excited when the characters level up, and anxious when their HP goes down. Such great character and world building, that even non gamers should enjoy, especially if you like sarcastic banter and realistic monsters, and a mystery. It's all here with great narration as well. Love a good listen so I can work on a jigsaw puzzle at the same time.

    "better than Sword Art Online"

The first two chapters I was a little iffy I was thinking it was going to be something like a old school Dungeons & Dragons but realized very quickly that it it was so much more.
the only drawback of this book while listening to it it made me itch to reinstall Everquest 2 or Guild Wars 2 to play as I was enjoying the book.
This this book has made me itching for more I will stay tuned for the next chapters in the series and hope the Adventure Continues on.

"The ending threw me for a loop!"

I really got into this story even though the LitRPG genre is not really my thing, this one was really good. It had some great aspects to it and a great cliffhanger I didn't see coming. Felt like I was playing Skyrim during parts of it and I really cared what happened to the characters my favorite was the dwarf...who is not what he first appears to be. Check it out for yourself well worth the credit!

"Good start, middle, but no ending!"

If you are a D&D or WOW type you will enjoy everything but the ending. Disappointing in the extreme. Ending is supposed to make you buy the next book because it isn’t ended. My way of thinking a book stands on its own or not at all. Comic books leave you hanging for the next one and even they have a partial ending. Sorry that this author had. To do things this way. Perhaps it was the Editor/publishers. Either way I dislike it.

    "Great start to epic adventure"

I want to start by informing you that I am not into MMORPGs. I am a huge fan of Tim Long’s Work and wanted to give this a try. It was a little difficult to get into because of my complete NUBE status but once the “tutorial” was done, the adventure began and the quest pulled me in. I listened on the way to and from work and while I was at work. I finished it in just over one day and am very much looking forward to the next one.
Great story, great action, great characters. Lots of humor and a fun quest with some conspiracy type stuff going on the background. But this book, listen to it, whatever you need to do, just don’t pass it by. Very well worth your time. Thank you mister Long.

    "couldn't finish"

the main character was a whiny idiot who couldn't do anything right and constantly got in to trouble and not In a good way. the story was dull and not vary interesting. Todd menesses is a good narrator and I think he did a good job with the characters but I just couldn't get in to it .

    "Pass on it"

This is one of those litrpgs you need to pass on. The MC is a total whiney asshat the entire freaking time. Always getting in trouble and then turning to companions and blowing it off or blaming them. Todd Menesses, did a rock star job keeping me awake. But even Todd can't save the MC from this story.

    "Seriously put me to sleep"

I don’t know if it’s the narration or the story but I couldn’t last more than an hour before falling asleep.

The narrator is talented but something about his voice is too calming and fails to relate excitement or the proper emotions (just my opinion).

The characters emotional states/responses and their actions are not consistent throughout. Because of this I often find it hard to relate to them or become divested.

Game mechanics are lacking and for the most part leveling and skill improvements don’t really correlated to a change in their abilities.
