Summary
Go beyond the film with a novelization featuring new scenes and expanded material.
As the shadows of the Empire loom ever larger across the galaxy, so do deeply troubling rumors. The Rebellion has learned of a sinister Imperial plot to bring entire worlds to their knees. Deep in Empire-dominated space, a machine of unimaginable destructive power is nearing completion. A weapon too terrifying to contemplate...and a threat that may be too great to overcome.
If the worlds at the Empire's mercy stand any chance, it lies with an unlikely band of allies: Jyn Erso, a resourceful young woman seeking vengeance; Cassian Andor, a war-weary rebel commander; Bodhi Rook, a defector from the Empire's military; Chirrut Ïmwe, a blind holy man; his crack-shot companion, Baze Malbus; and K-2SO, a deadly Imperial droid turned against its former masters. In their hands rests the new hope that could turn the tide toward a crucial Rebellion victory - if only they can capture the plans to the Empire's new weapon.
But even as they race toward their dangerous goal, the specter of their ultimate enemy - a monstrous world unto itself - darkens the skies, waiting to herald the Empire's brutal reign with a burst of annihilation worthy of its dreaded name: Death Star.

Yeah,, why won't audible UK offer me the ability to buy the Marc Thompson performed Unabridged Timothy Zahn 'Thrawn Trilogy' of 'Heir to the Empire', 'Dark Force Rising' and 'The Last Command' Audiobooks that are available to buy from the Audible US store?

Shame about the sound effects
Great story, but its a shame that the sound effects make listening difficult in places. Screeching sounds in places drowns out the narrative .

The storytelling was very deep and the added sound effects really completed the atmosphere. Visualising what was being said really brought back memories from the movie.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The voice acting for the droid, k2. It felt real and authentic.
Any additional comments?
The whole time I was listening to this book I kept thinking about the movie which I have seen twice already. I started to remember each scene in detail and now I’m eager to see it again.

Dramatic
This tragic story is beautiful in itself and the companion book is beautifully written, with additional scenes and reflections that are only hinted at during the movie.
I have to say, however, that while I enjoyed the story immensely, i would have preferred it to be a simple reading. The background noise and different sound effects, coupled with the overenthusiastic style of the narrator were simply too much for me personally. It took me a few minutes to be able to concentrate and take this seriously. All in all still a terrific piece I wouldn't want to miss.

Great book
This is a very good book that has an in depth story allowing you to know a lot more about what is going on in the characters minds when they are do certain tasks. It is also the first audiobook that I have listen too that has sound effects. I would definitely recommend buying this book to listen too due to the fact it is a great read.

An excellent storey and performance.
Storey and performance were both excellent, the use of sound effects and music really bringing the narration to life.

depends how interesting you find the main character
i really like the film, but i’d already read the prequel novel and the problem for me was, i don’t find the main character or the father sufficiently interesting to spend endless chapters on. so same problem here - this one , there’s a lot of focus on what’s going on in her head , and a lot of overwrought writing. i think one sees why Andor was the one who someone decided merited a tv series, because he’s more interesting by far.

A Review from the Autistic Nerd
I really enjoyed this Audio book. Of the five recent Star Wars movies Rogue One was my favourite. I also really enjoyed the novel Rogue One Catalyst. But I loved this novel as always the music and sound effects really enhance the Star Wars audio experience. Be AWESOME if Audible was to Audio Plays from a Galaxy Far Far Away as well as just doing audio readings to these wonderful novels.
