Publisher's Summary

Cal Stringel returns in the fourth volume of the D-List Supervillain series! One of the few heroes he respects has been captured, and now, Cal must rely on his wit, technical skills, and a healthy dose of The Big Lie, to pull off a daring rescue from inside a villain's base.

Along the way, he and his team of New Renegades will have to worry about an imposter, human/animal Manglermal hybrids, a naked woman, an evil scientist, a terrifying plan, and the ever intrusive presence of Big Brother. Can Cal keep the fact that he's really alive a secret? What hidden truths has Aphrodite been holding onto and how will it change their relationship?

All these questions await Cal, but, most importantly, why are you still reading the description? You should already be listening to chapter one!

    "of two minds."

so I really the love d-list supervillain series. is one of my all-time favorite book series out there at this time. I really enjoyed this book but I don't know if it's because we had to wait for some long for it or if or for other reasons that I can't quite put my finger on it this book from a little lacking. That is of course in comparison of the other books in the series which I absolutely love. Jen this is a great book and I had a lot of fun but I listen to it twice right in the world. However there's just something missing not a hundred percent sure what it is but it was missing. if you're a fan of the series you will like this book and you might have a different feelings I love the book and I still I'm going to listen to this one over and over again like I have the others, but I am wondering what else that could have been put in to make this book complete. But that's just my own opinion.

    "Too good too short"

A fine addition to a good series but the ending always comes too soon. The biggest problem is waiting for the next book.

    "wonderful"

The story continues and Jeffrey Kafer sounds so much better my iPhone reading the kindle version.
Many questions are answered as the series moves along. If you have not read the first book buy this one but don't listen to it until you have bought the rest and caught up.

    "Good but to short"

Would rather the author release the whole story arc in one book. This seems to stop in the middle of the primary storyline.

Otherwise I like the book. It keeps in line with the others in the series, and advances the plot and characters.

    Story
    "very fast paced"

Another fun and extremely fast paced adventure. As was clear from the very beginning of this novel, it continues from the where the last one left off and gives you closure on this adventure while telling you in no uncertain terms the general idea of what's to come next. Generally a great deal of fun but as I said very fast-paced and over before you realize it. With this much going on I would've expected this novel to literally be twice as long, and it could have been.
The author didn't see the need, and I still found I tremendously enjoyed it.
This is at least as good as his previous efforts in this series, and I look forward to the next one with great anticipation.
Hey Jim Bernheimer, if you haven't read any of these how do we find out when the next one is coming out?

"Great addition to the story line"

I’ve enjoyed Cal from his first story. This addition did not disappoint. I love his inner turmoil to be both who he is and try to be a good guy too. He is an applicable anti hero. The story is lined with wisdom and wit. I recommend it.

    "Less than half"

I’m a huge fan of this series, but hesitate as they are short. In the past they were short but complete. This one is not. It doesn’t finish even one of multiple storylines. Audible should give the next book for free. I won’t return it as I enjoyed what their was—but shame on this author. Would it have been horrible to finish the story? I believe I’m out on this series.

In short, wait for the next one, and spend two creds then. Total cliffhanger.

"Just enough to keep the craving away."

This was a quick story compared to the previous books but all of the right ingredients were still on display. If he keeps writing them, I'll keep getting them.

"Stale story, nothing new in this book"

The D-Villain series started off promising. They were a fun listen, nothing spectacular, but still fun. I think the fun is all gone by now. The story is stale, the same characters run around doing exactly the same things they did in the previous 2 books, and the central character, believable in the first book, is now becoming a little too cartoonish and two dimensional. The books are cartoonish to begin with, but now they are too much so. I won't be reading the next book..
