Summary

You remember Norman Bates, the shy motel manager with the fatal mother fixation. Now, years after his horrific bout of butchery, Norman is at large again. Breaking free from the psycho ward, he cuts a shocking swath of blood all the way to Hollywood—where, it so happens, they are making a movie about Norman’s life and crimes. A movie that suddenly and terrifyingly becomes a lot like real life.

Psycho Too

Paul Michael Garcia is an excellent narrator who brings the characters to life in this great sequel to Bloch's classic novel.

Not as well written as the first

The story was as good as the first (especially as I’ve never watched the film so had no idea of the plot twists) but I felt it wasn’t as well written as the first.
The original book had subtlety and led as gently as the genre allowed… this one has the subtlety of a sledgehammer. It actually feels like a different author wrote it (maybe because there’s 30 years between them)

He's Back

Nothing like the film, and that's what makes it even better!

Norman Bates manages to escape his psychiatric lock down by murdering and impersonating a nun, as you do! His psychiatrist takes a leave of absence to track him down, and don't you know it, just as all this is happening, Hollywood is filming Norman's life story.....could he be heading out there for a guest appearance?!

Graphic violence of women is not entertainment

I didn't enjoy this at all. The story is a bit dull, the storyline is dull alongside the back stories of the characters. I listened to.it because I paid for it. There are several scenes of violence to women, which are absolutely inappropriate in any day and age. it's almost like you can't write a crime story without being violent to women, and then written in such graphic manner just gives an insight to.the author.

missing sections

I personally couldn't get into the book as there seem to be chunks missing, even ends of sentences are not there and it just jumps ahead what could be 10 seconds or 3 minutes. So I don't want to get invested just to have plot points missing from bad quality control.
