Summary

More Predator?
What did you like best about this story?
The parts to do with the Predators were my most favorite parts of this story. I like how mysterious they are and want to know more about them. I just wish there was more of the Preds, like their culture, habits, home lives and so on.

Good story overall though, really enjoyed it.

Starts slow, ends at a blistering pace. Hooked!
As the review title implies, Incursion starts very slow. So slow that I kept zoning out and finding I hadn't missed anything important when I finally came back to realising it was still playing through my headphones.
It picks up near the end, though. It goes at such a fast face towards the end that you would be forgiven for thinking a different author had taken over after the first 60 percent.
For fans of Predator, like myself, there is the added bonus of getting to learn about their society, weapons etc ... Before they were simply an enigmatic curiosity, now I find them so much more interesting.
Well worth persisting with, especially because of what happens near the end. It promises for a thrill ride in the following books.

Great book, slow start
This is a great book, there are places where chopping between places and characters makes it confusing at times but it builds to a satisfying crisendo. The beginning is a very slow burner but once the action kicks in it doesn't lift off. Good start, slow in parts then great final act.

Phenomenal
This is honestly some of my he best AVP stuff we’ve had in years! I enjoyed this so much I read it once, then listened to it! Really can’t wait for book 2

Not what I was hoping for
Having read the book prior to using audible I found the voice used didn’t at all suit how I imagined the voices sounding in my head. Which I found quite discomforting, and at times I found his feminine tone for characters such as the female marines quite patronising. All in all I gave up after the first few minutes of the first chapter for these reasons as I believe I would have grown more annoyed as the story progressed. Unfortunate as the book and Tim Lebbon’s writing is incredible.

Good start to the trilogy.
I enjoyed this expansion of the Predator universe with loads of individual stories going on within and outside the human sphere that begin to intertwine. I'm intrigued and looking forward to the next 2 books.
