Publisher's Summary

The dark and twisted community of Woodsend harbors a terrible secret - one tracing back to the age of the Elizabethan witch hunts, when many innocent women were persecuted and hanged.

But there is a far deeper vein of horror running through this village; an evil that, once invoked, has no intention of relinquishing its grip on the modern world. Rather, it watches and waits with a focused intelligence, leaving ward sister Becky and police officer Toby constantly checking over their shoulders and jumping at shadows.

Just who invited in this malevolent presence? And is the demonic woman who possessed Magda back in the 16th century the same one now gazing at Becky whenever she looks in the mirror?

You may need to sleep with the lights on after listening to this...Are you ready to meet Magda in this final installment to the trilogy? Are you sure?

    "Soooo good"

I've just finished the entire trilogy in order. I can't believe there won't be a further book or two as the story was left. Really enjoyable with great narration throughout. Fairly graphic but not unnecessarily so and nothing compared to some others I have listened to. All part of the story anyway. Brilliant. Please give us some more.

    "Great last installment"

I really enjoyed this last book. It brings the past into the story, giving us context about the history of the area and the people. It has moments of real discomfort and makes you think about what might be going on out there. It skilfully rides a fine line between fact and fantasy. Magda is a great character and really adds to the story.

Meire reads well although she pronounces the odd, commonly used word in a strange way, which pulled me out of the story each time. Otherwise though, a good performance.

    "RIVETING"

Please, please, please Sarah, write some more, of this type of theme. I couldn't stop listening to this trilogy. I feel so sad, I have reached the end. It's like I really got to know all of the main characters, and I miss them.

"Hail Sarah E England the new nightmare Queen!"

I waited for the audio version of Magda because I'd listened to the first two books on Audible and loved them and it was absolutely worth the wait.

This author is up there with Dean Koontz, Clive Barker, Stephen King and Mary Shelley in my humble.

I'm going to be waiting somewhat impatiently for the next installment.

A new modern masterpiece in horror fiction is born.

Ms England has a very successful career in writing ahead and I can't wait to see where we go next on the journey.

"Great final book to this disturbing trilogy"

This book tied things up well to end the series coherently and answer the lingering questions left
from book 2. Although I love detailed character and scene development, I really like Sarah Englands style of briefly describing incidents like exorcisms, and the trauma of Ruby and Alice, she gives you enough detail that you can picture/imagine the rest. The end is like that too, really liked the way she closed the series. Having left it open enough to carry on the story, I hope she will start another trilogy, perhaps about Molly...
