Publisher's Summary

After accidentally discovering the possible existence of a second Guardian book, Lusam and his party are remorselessly hunted high into the Elveen mountains by the Empire agents, who are intent on killing or capturing them. What they discover there may very well change the balance of power in their favor against the Thule Empire.

But their discovery will count for nothing if they cannot reach Lamuria in time to try and stop the massive invasion force sent by Lord Zelroth, who is intent on destroying their capital and stealing the High Temple's secrets for himself. Lusam inadvertently discovers a long guarded secret of Lord Zelroth's, one that will profoundly change his own life forever and force him to take action that he may very well not be prepared for.

    "An amazing experience"
What did you like most about Lusam: The Dragon Mage Wars, Book 3?

It was extremely eventful and exiting. Even when nothing was happening, the dialogue was either funny or serious and interesting.

What other book might you compare Lusam: The Dragon Mage Wars, Book 3 to, and why?

I would recommend the Apprentice book series. It is similar, fantasy and magic with other similarities, but also very interesting and an easy listen. Also, the Witcher series, but that is a lot darker than Lusam or the Apprentice series.

Which character – as performed by Alex Wyndham – was your favourite?

I would say Ren, but I also love the main character, Lusam.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

As I said, it is an easy listen, and if I had the time, I would listen to it in one sitting.

    Any additional comments?

Magic and fantasy fans, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BOOK!

"It's alright. Not a bad story, well narrated."

If I never hear the term "lad" I again, or the phase "it's a long story" I'll probably die happy. Seriously Dean get some better proof readers, and please quit with the truly Aweful analogies. All in all a bit thin, characters lack depth, a bit unpolished, and wholey predictable but I think there is hope.

"Better than the first two, or should I say, one."

There's an improvement in the story telling but it's still predictable. Everyone is either overtly good and polite or evil and scheming. Main character is as invincible as ever and it just all comes off as a bit bland.
It's competent but that's about it. Lots of silly mistakes as well: 'rock hard rocky ground' being the best cringe inducing moment.
If there's nothing left for you to read/listen too in the coming of age genre, this will do.

I was a skeptic of audible books, but I've been won over! I listen to my books everywhere, even while cooking. Audible is a perfect escape!

    "Adventurous and Enjoyable"

Sometimes it's nice to read a book that not too overly complicated, quite engaging, very convincing and outright enjoyable; leaving you with a sense of euphoria and strangely hope even for our real world. This is that kind of book.
There's a bit of everything: cut throat action; politics, religion, mystery and even good old fashioned romance. It has a satisfactory ending too so that I'm not overly eager awaiting for the next instalment/book - but I'll definitely be keeping a look out for it.

    "'Empire rage ents'"

Alex Wyndham does dialogue/voices really well, but I can't bear the way he reads anything else, very peculiar rhythm. I've given this book a chance because I enjoyed the first one, but it's pretty average for the genre, same old story really. Author could finesse his sentences more thoroughly, and narrator should stop running words into each other. I got so fed up with hearing about empire rage ents.
I finished it because the dialogue made it bearable, more of that please.

    "Good story worth listen"

Cant complain about the story line or the narration all excellent. One thing that really got to me was how the story ended it just cuts off part way through story. No indication when follow up is due

"For those who like the unknown becoming a hero this is another great tale"

This is tale is not unique but it is well made and fun. I like all the books i. The audio series thus far and appreciated a make mage is one if the main characters. I enjoyed the love story and the women were strong physically tough heroes as well so there are points of entry for all. That said it was not so politically correct to ruin the story and I hope audible brings book 4 to audio. Cheers to the narrator as he was was terrific and added a lot to the tale and got most pronunciations of fictional thing correct or believably correct. Cheers

    "Serves its purpose"

If you want a listen to a generic fantasy book, especially one your mind can wander while driving for 30 min. I think this book was written by a computer- input-fantasy book with boy add magic add evil mages and some zombies, select companions and basic environments, pick from a drop down box from several mythology types, then click rated PG, violence low, sex/romance at Disney princess level and hit enter- boom wait 7 min and out comes The dragon mage Wars!
The book follows the exposition style, a character describes plot elements and back story. Good guys being chased, bad guys right behind- time for good guys to stop and describe the environment and then another describes a plan and the others say good idea- the plan being fuc$!ng run! It's like there is a pause button for the characters to talk.
Thus my review "serves its purpose" if that purpose is no thought required by reader, with low interest and zero anxiety! Ohhh and short!
If you're looking for epic fantasy that draws you in well go to Jordan, Martin or Jordan!

    "spoilers*****"

    Currently on chapter 36
I have some pet peeves that ruin a story for me this is one.
Lusam is hunted by multiple evil agents trying to kill him and his friends. Lusam eventually beats them but he decides to let them go!!! They are murderers and necromancers that are killing people and want to kill him! These agents have been hunting him for a long time and have information on him, his great and abnormal power, and his friends. Also he led them to a place of power for his side of the war which they also now know about.
The evil agents in even an illogical world would pass along this information possibly leading to many people dying including him and his friends and will definitely increase the amount of force the opposition hunts him with.
The amount of sheer stupidity in this single moment will stop me from reading another one of these books and baffles me how continually authors ruin books using this cliche and disgusting decision that almost always leads to death for his friends and hopefully for him too.
(p.s. other than that a good story which makes this soo much worse)

    update.
lusam continues to whine about killing people who are trying to kill him and made a decision to not take a ship ride because it would endanger the crew even though knowing that hundreds of people will die because he wants to walk and possibly lose the war. Why authors continously use this personality I will never understand just stop writng books. So you stop wasting my money.
