"A read that kept me going and was worth it."

This book was given to me free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

This is a very well written book that has plenty of action and keeps you reading/listening whilst eagerly waiting for the plot points to unfold further.

You feel like the story hasn't really developed then all of a sudden you are hit with something that makes you sit up and take notice again.

The narration is very good with good continuity of character voices throughout.
The sense of immersion in the audio is fantastic helping you to really feel like the story is unfolding in front of you instead of the story being read to you.

I would recommend this book to anyone that wants that likes a Time Travelling story without all of the technical aspects that normally come with this sub genre.

Well worth the time to listen/read.

"Neat time travel story - need more!"

I really enjoyed the way this book slowly introduced the time travel mechanics and little changes caused as a result of actions done in different times. I thought the bouncing around between perspectives and times was also done really well! Overall, I felt like this book does a great job at giving the introduction to the world and related mechanics of time travel as well as giving a glimpse of the even larger issue that awaits in the future. my only gripe is that the book ends a bit abruptly just when things seem like they are about to kick into high gear. I know that there is a book 2 on the way so I'm excitedly waiting for its release so I can continue this wonderful story.

The narration by Johnny Mack was pleasant and delivery was more than acceptable. There was not a great deal of character voice variation (compared to some) but it was enough for me and I don't feel it negatively impacted the performance.

I will definitely be looking for book 2 and would be happy to hear it was also narrated by Johnny Mack!

    "different take on time travel"
What was one of the most memorable moments of Land of the Living?

the most memorable moments are when main character travels back and sees parent that have passed away and saves a girl which changes history or corrects history! lots of jumping around in characters history.

Have you listened to any of Johnny Mack’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

this was my first time to hear Johnny Mack. he did a great job! was able to listen to the whole book with out being annoyed!

    Any additional comments?

i was given this book for free, for my honest opinion.

    Story
    "Gets better and better..."

This story that started out as so-so became more and more interesting as the pages turned. Our protagonist James Creed finds he has become a time traveler. From his life in 2015 he awakens back in his previous life of 1985 to save his high school sweetheart Sarah, who had died in an auto accident. The story continues as Jim slowly pieces together what is happening to him. He meets his son and daughter from the future who both have come back in time to help their father. The twists and turns from 2015, 2013, 1985, and stops in-between keep the excitement and interest growing. Government groups with both good and bad intentions come into play and there are a couple other key players whom you will meet. The desire to find out what happens to Jim and Sarah will follow you to the end. This is the first book of a series and I will definitely look for book two. "Good Time Travel story"

I've read a few novels recently that surround some type of time travel (Replay by Ken Grimwood is a good one). I picked this up as it follows a similar story line, and does so a little differently - through the mind. There were a number of well developed characters and their intertwined relationships were one of the best parts of the book. I grew up through the 80's so I loved the references to that time frames pop culture, etc.

The narrator was good with one exception - there were a few characters whose voices were barely distinguishable, and some even varied within the same conversations (Michael for example). This detracted a little from the book, but not enough to be a big deal. I will definitely move on to book 2 and look forward to more.

    "A good time travel story"

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

An excellent time travel story. I thought the narration was good and the story was well paced, if a bit slow at first. I would definitely have interest in the next book in the series.

"Time Travel is all in your Head"

Really enjoyed this one. Who hasn’t wished they could go back and change something in their past? How would that change the present? Story was well written and I will be looking for the next part of this series.

Did not care for the narrator on this one. Sometimes hard to tell who was who. Two main voices and sometimes they mixed. I’ve heard worse… but I have also heard much better.
