    "Ishmael Wong sails on."

I have, years ago, had the very great pleasure of listening to the author, Nathan Lowell, reading the preceding Trader Tale stories himself when they were podcast. He is a wonderful narrator and I thoroughly enjoyed hearing his caramel voice. Jeffery Kafer is a fine narrator and I almost got used to his "black coffee" tones, he certainly has a great range of voices and his female characters sound very good. But for me, Nathan is the voice of Captsin Wong.
Having got that off my chest let's consider the Tale. At the end of the previous book; "Owner's Share", tragedy had visited our erstwhile Captain and left him bereft just when we all thought he was happy. Thank goodness Audible have released this book and put me out of my misery! It's clearly the start of a new phase of life for Ishmael Wong and I, for one, am cheering him on and look forward to seeing what happens next.
If you haven't already, do listen to the preceedung books, this is a stand-alone story but it will be better appreciated heard in sequence. Narhan Lowell has a fine gift for making a future of Solar Clippers and interstellar travel so very plausible, its a pleasure for me to slip forward in time to this reality. There are no aliens, but tbe author describes real humans with familiar quirks and foibles, machinations and sneakiness, all set in a possible future. Our hero is very likeable and innocently wise, and his story is not yet over.

"Story was good, performance very dissapointing"
What made the experience of listening to In Ashes Born the most enjoyable?

the performer had a relatively pleasant voice, although a bit monotonous.

Would you be willing to try another one of Jeffrey Kafer’s performances?

No, assuming that this is a typical performance.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes, unfortunately the performance made this impossible.

    Any additional comments?

Story was good, but the performance had no real inflection or emotion in the delivery. There was no attempt at character differentiation and this made it difficult at times to follow the dialog and naration. Very dissapointing, especially compared to the original performances of the first 6 books by the author, Nathan Lowell. I doubt that I will purchase any more of this series unless the performance is done by the author, in the same style as before.

Great book. Can't wait for more if there is more. Just a pity it's not narrated by Nathan Lowell himself like his trader tales series.

    "And it continues"

This has been an excellent story not the normal space adventure which is what makes it unique. This book sets up the next part of the story and as such can be looked as book 1.
    Looking forward to more.

    "Where to Now?"

What is it they say, life is a circle; and so, it seems, Ishmael Wong seems to have gone full circle to end up back at the beginning in one sense.

Back at the Academy he meets up with the crew of his first clipper.

Where the journey goes from here promises one thing, it will be eventful.

A thoroughly enjoyable series which grows as it travels into the deep dark.

    "Fantastic Continuation"

I listened to the original Trader's Tale series back when Nathan Lowell did his own narration on Podiobooks. It takes a little adjustment to get used to Jeffrey Kafer as narrator but his performed fantastic.
This is a fantastic and fitting continuation of Ishmael's story and I can not wait for more. I would however suggest completing the Trader's Tale series before starting a Seeker's Tale, although the story can stand on its own, some of the impact and drive may be lost.

"Another Great Book by Nathan Lowell"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book to anyone even though this may not be their genre, as Nathan Lowell is a great storyteller and his characters and storyline drags you in for a great listen.

What did you like best about this story?

What I like about this book is the continuation of Ishmael Horatio Wang's story and the meeting up of his old friends.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

From start to finish the book is enjoyable.

    Any additional comments?

If you like a good seafaring story of the old school with great characters with their development and progression in the world of the Solar Clippers this is a book for you.

"Great book. Looking forward to more!"

I began listening to Nathan's books when he was reading them himself. I loved the way he narrated and knew exactly how each character would be feeling at the time. I wasn't sure if I'd like the new reader and I didn't at first. Given time I've grown to accept him and I'll say he did a great job with the book. All I request now is...... more books, Mr. Lowell!

Gosh now I want the next one. I was afraid of being disappointed by the narrator as I'm used to listening to the author but that wasn't the case at all. What a great book!

The traders tails series was fantastic all the way through. This series has a bit more action to it (so far), but maintains the overall feeling of the other.

Ish is back with Pip, and only fun will follow... for us readers, at least.

After listening to Nathan Lowell narrate his other books, I was excited about the story, but this narrator did not do it justice. He mispronounced many words, and sounds like he's narrating a old crime story.

As good as all his previous books. But....while I continue to marvel at the authors story telling acumen and the narrators dulcet tones......this one is a little thin in story line....hope the author fills up the next one a lil better......looking forward to it/them...

A good solid read. As always, a story more for the journey than the destination. If you are looking at reading this you really should start with the earlier solar clipper books for the whole story.
