Summary

From the minds of multi-million selling suspense authors (Peretti & Dekker) comes House - an epic supernatural thriller that gives a new meaning to the phrase "haunted house." Two couples vacationing in Alabama are pursued by a maniac killer who lures them to a vacant house which won't let them leave. The "house" mirrors their own heart and souls and they must defeat the evil within.

THE BEST BOOK I HAVE READ IN 2012!

This is one of the best books I have read in a long time. I love suspense and fantasy, but most books ignore God and His mercy. This book combined everything I love to read and also combine it with the miracle of God's love for us, and how He is willing to lead us on the path of forgiveness as long as we are willing to trust and obey Him. The main characters are two couples, all with issues from their past, and their struggle to overcome their personal fears and weaknesses, while struggling to stay alive in a house filled with evil; the worst of all being stalked by a serial killer. This book is gripping and thought-provoking. A must read for every Christian who loves this genre.

Absolutely inspiring!!!

This book is truly inspiring! I am a Christian, who grew up in a Christian home. As I have grown up there are things that I have become numb to for one reason or another. Through this book and the two authors who wrote it, God spoke to me and showed me the things I have become numb to. I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who has eyes to see and ears to hear. God is not dead and is surely alive! This book has allowed me to become more receptive to God and deal with those dark things of the past! This is a reader for all, believers and non believers. God bless

It's a fabulous book but warning...

House was a well executed storyline with characters that had well defined, yet abstract, back stories. The way in which the story unfolds keeps you wrapped up in each page. I must warn you though it does cause you to take stock of the contents and conditions of your own heart. it begs for inflection.

really good

I read about this book before I read it, so I knew the surprise going in. With that said, I didn't find the story confusing. Though u had to pay attention. I loved the message and the cause of the haunted house was pefect!

I am a fan of all Frank Peretti books and liked this just as much. Very good book ... much to think about as the book ends!

Brilliant

Dekker and Peretti do an excellent job of crafting a horrifying, engaging story with well made characters. King did such an excellent job narrating, I can't see anyone else doing it. Very well done.

Absolutely the Worst: Not Christian Literature

We liked several of Perretti's novels and recently purchased House for a long car trip. This was not Christ-like literature by any stretch of the imagination. The characters were very shallow and the constant back and forth between them was tedious and annoying. The plot was ridiculous, boring and gory. It was non sensical. We actually listened up almost the end and could take no more. Not sure what's going on with this author to think that somehow this story glorified God. It was nothing short of a poorly written, secular, horror novel.

Reading great, story sucked

Although I have not read any of Ted Dekker's books I've read several of Frank Peretti's. I've enjoyed all of Perettis books. This book was extremely hard to follow and although parts of the ending made great sense the finale did not and was a let down compared to other of Perettis books. I found this one to be a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! I don't often say I didn't enjoy a book bc I love to read, I DIDNT ENJOY THIS BOOK. I WISH I HAD NOT WASTED THE TIME.
