Publisher's Summary

Sharing a beer with Death - one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse - really put a few things into perspective for this foul-mouthed billionaire wizard. Like finally strapping on the boots to propose to his girlfriend.

But assassination contracts have a way of putting wedding plans on hold. Perhaps permanently. And with the entire wedding party on the bloodthirsty Grimm's hit-list, and his family fortune in jeopardy, Nate realizes they can't run and they can't hide. So, time to do magic and stuff....

But with every flavor of supernatural thug teaming up to help the Grimms, Nate realizes that friends have become enemies and enemies have become friends, and he's forced to cross lines that are better left uncrossed.

When magic, claws, and teeth dance to the song of war, the only thing left to learn is who lives and who dies. And if Nate can live with the consequences.

No wonder a guy is terrified to propose.

    "GET THIS BOOK!"

This book was amazing, and the narration was spot on. I truly enjoy this series and I'm hoping that the next books will be on audible soon because I can't wait.

    "Not the best"

This was an extreme disappointment and more so because of the expectations set by the previous books. This is a “David and Goliath” story, denoting an underdog situation, David, a contest where a smaller, weaker opponent faces a much bigger, stronger adversary, Goliath.
Nate is predicted to be the most formidable “master”. He still does not know how to wield his magic even at an elementary level. He finds himself against a savvy foe that his grandfather/great grandfather, at his most skilled level, had difficulty fighting.

He had a loyal following in book one because he was powerful, decisive and had the resources to win. He now looks like a buffoon when postulating the rightness of his cause when his foe has repeatedly knocked him on his ass. He is the corner stone of the group and he goes into battles on hope and inspiration. His followers are willing to lose life and limb and he is totally out magicked in this book

Our emotions are being manipulated, by the author, by retarding the power of Nate. This is a set up for the predictable situation where we must suffer the death/maiming of characters while Nate is getting his ass kick. The author takes us to an abyss filled with sadness when our heroes lose what they most cherished. I am a bleeding heart and orchestrating deaths/resurrections for an unoriginal plot line makes me angry.

His resources are depleted, and the sobering body count of his unwavering belief in goodness versus evil has broken his spirit . It was disheartening to see the foul-mouthed wizard rich play boy brought so low. The Temple legacy takes a destructive blow, which will change what I love most about Nate.

The author takes the Grimm Brothers fairy-tale monsters and the premise of the Grimm tv series to create a new story line for the Grimm Brothers. That is an interesting point of the book.

    "AWESOME, BEST ONE YET!"

Excellent narration, wonderfully vivid characters, and PLENTY of new challenges for our favorite billionaire wizard (excuse me, maker). Once again, Silvers has managed to twist famous historical legends and neatly weave them into a world that i, for one, plan to visit again and again. If you loved "Obsidian Son" and "Blood Debts", just WAIT til you see who Nate's up against now. However, before listening to this book, it helps to have read "Fairy Tale", a free E-book that Silvers made available on his website. I'm gonna read that one next and listen to "Grimm" again in the near future, and see if I can enjoy it even more next time around.

    "bad story"

Simply put the narrator makes chicken salad out of chicken ****. I mean a trained sniper on the team and everyone knows who the opposition main targets are, and the sniper just hits two random and ineffective targets. come on man. the sniper would hit the necromancer.

"Another great book in a very promising series"

The characters continue to evolve, the stories continue to improve and my anticipation for the next installment grows by the chapter. I am very tempted to pick up the ebook because I can't wait to see what Shayne cooks up next, but I will bide my time for the audiobook.
I really enjoy the way the author casually throws in epic mythological characters in to average situations resulting in some hilarious dialog as well as some hoof in mouth moments.
This was another great story, a bit more serious than I prefer, but not at the expense of the great sense of humor that drew me in to this series.
This series gets compared to the Dresden files a lot, it does have a lot of similarities, but so does almost all urban fantasy, that being said, this series has an identity of its own and I suspect will continue to stand on its own merit in subsequent installments.
