Summary

Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house not a creature was stirring.... But something must be stirring. Something hidden in the shadows. Something which kills the servants of an old Edwardian mansion in the most brutal and macabre manner possible.

Exactly on the chiming of the hour, every hour, as the grandfather clock ticks on towards midnight. Trapped and afraid, the Doctor and Charley are forced to play detective to murders with no motive, where even the victims don't stay dead. Time is running out. And time itself might well be the killer....

Written by: Robert Shearman. Directed by: Barnaby Edwards.

One of Big Finish's best

I checked out Chimes of Midnight when I asked for some Eighth Doctor stories and it was recommended by several people and it's easy to see why. Everything about this story is amazing the atmosphere, the writing, the performance of cast it's just brillaint

Outstanding original story

One of the very very best from Big Finish, whose range i have always found very uneven. This is a brilliant radio play (which should always be the aim and sometimes falls far short), a great intriguing story, super performances and very atmospheric. Well recommended.

doctor who at its finest

a fantastic story with a quite frankly underrated doctor. The story, the writing the setting and twist with a thrilling mystery. my absolute favourite of the 8th doctor's studios and I might even dare say it's my favourite doctor who episode of all time

Classic Doctor Who

I really enjoyed this but it's definitely one for the Christmas season. A classic time paradox tale.

Early Big Finish at it's absolute best

The chimes of midnight is one of those doctor BF stories that everyone recommends you listen to. I completely agree, this is hands down one of the best doctor who stories period. It's got an intriguing plot and entertainimh characters, likewise its got great characters. Paul McGann & India Fisher are brilliant in the lead roles. This is one of this audio stories where the atmosphere just radiates out at you. I can't stress enough how unique this thing is and how well it fits into the doctor who series.
