A chilling tale

I loved this book, the characters all came to life from the page and you could sense their emotions each time their dark stories changed. Atmospheric and gothic.

Bloody.Haunting.Romantic

'Crimson Peak: The Official Film Novelization', by Nancy Holder, is a perfect prose adaptation of Guillermo Del Toro's immaculately gothic romance. It is a perfect and disturbingly visual play-by-play of the 2015 original movie with a scene-for-scene rendition. Nancy Holder's writing is visceral, haunting, and beautiful. All of the great characteristics attributed to Del Toro's masterpiece.

Wonderfully descriptive and creepy.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this to anyone who loves ghost stories and thrillers. the 'Twist' was a bit easy to see coming but it didn't make it any less enjoyable at all. I will sit down to watch the film after listening to this book and i know i'll listen to it more than once.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favourite character was the house; It seemed to have its own oppressive role to play and the descriptions of the rooms were wonderful. The other charecters were all well written and drew sympathy at points. The main villain when revealed was written well and the action was well conveyed

Which scene did you most enjoy?

The end scene, its action was almost palpable.

Crimson peak

A thoroughly riveting listen. A dark and beautifully Gothic work of horror by the master himself. And brilliantly novelized by Nancy Holder. In the tradition of Victorian Gothic romance.
