Summary
This is the endgame - and it's not going well.
The battle to keep the undead tide from the walls of London is lost. Africa is a deadly hall of mirrors, leaving Alpha team riven with dissension and doubt. And the one man who might save the world is crashing to Earth half a world away. Only our greatest warriors can walk through this fire.
Betrayal. Chaos. Courage. Cataclysm.

A Mid-Series Scene Setter
I’m sorry Michael Fuchs but it’s now official, you need to be locked away and never let out again. No more wasting time on recreation and spending time with family and friends you need to be working 24/7 on new books for this series. R C Bray we can let out on license in between recording sessions but only if he promises not to the leave the country. This series is a REAL guilty pleasure and the fact that the adrenalin has kept flowing for so many books and I still look forwards to each new one coming out tells me all I need to know about it. So sorry Michael / RC you need to accept responsibility for creating my addiction!
That said, in truth this one isn’t quite the same high-octane, non-stop action that most of the books in the series have managed to deliver. It does take a while to get going, relatively speaking, and when the action does start it occasionally feels a bit choppy as it switches from London to Africa with occasional visits to Russia thrown in. It was still good though and I certainly get the feeling that the next book will be a real blast given the scenes that have been set.
It’s worth noting that the last half hour of the book is in fact a taster of the next in the series. I didn’t listen to it this time, I suspect that the pace of that one will be frenetic and I don’t want to get into the first half hour just to have to wait a few months to get my next fix.
So, although Cataclysm is not the very best in the series it is still damn good and clearly sets things up to follow in epic fashion. If you’ve not read the series then much better to start at the beginning and believe me it’s a hell of a ride.

Good but not enough
This is an excellent series of books but they should be packaged together as it effectively just one story and each book doesn’t include enough to warrant the use of one credit.
As usual the narration is excellent and I will move on to the next instalment!!

Disaster from start to finish
Love the books but come on how many dumb mistakes can professional soldier make. It’s getting beyond silly.
R C Bray does a cracking job, but it’s not enough to make me want to get the next one.

leave the politics out next time
great series, and I forgive the authors lack of familiarity with the UK, although he thinks us blighters are jolly old fashioned. but please leave out the commentary on 80's Britain politics for which he has even less understanding. 5* for the zombie stuff, losing 2* for talking b#llock$ on politics

lacking in interesting characters
there is some great stuff here, but for me personally, there's a lot of time dedicated to boring characters and side stories which I just couldn't connect with

WOW
Love this series of books, totally gripping story, a wide variety of characters and their individual personalities, the author goes into vivid details about it all, it's as though they've experienced the zombie apocalypse and come back in time to tell us about it.

The whole series up to book 10
Honestly down load these books. I have been absolutely enthralled from start to finish. R C Bray as narrator is excellent. The author's & R C Bray make you believe each character a different personality depth that leads you to believe each one actually existed. 5 stars are never enough. Enjoy!

Hilariously bad.
These books have been getting worse and worse. Now it's gone from guilty pleasure to utter non-sense. I could stomach the non-stop crises when they made a little sense. But in this book he's gone above and beyond stupid and ridiculous. It's comical really. Characters who have just had their professionalism described at length act like mental patients. Add to that whale shark attacks - I kid you not - and two absurdly improbable events colliding into one laugh-out-loud impossible crapfest, and you have the makings of a book that is getting returned right now.
