Publisher's Summary

The world is dying at the hands of a brutal empire.

Brother Dust, a changeling born amidst a sandstorm, has seen it all before. He's watched as the heavy imperial boots have crushed dozens of planets. Watched as their drills pierce the core of a world, slowly killing it while the natives are kept docile, and compliant with the gifts and pleasures the empire brings them from the stars.

He will watch no more.

Brother Dust will use his ability to mold his own body into devastating weapons, to wage a one-man war against the malevolent High Father, and the empire's diabolical machines.

The body count is rising, but the empire must be stopped.

    "Faced paced science fiction"

I certainly got drawn into this straight away. We have a book offering compelling new worlds, alien species, evil empires and a hero with a super-hero like ability. It's a hero that you certainly get behind and want to succeed. There's plenty of action and excitement. It is a book with plenty of violence in it as well as a good story. I like the fact that you are not sure who will get out of this rebellion alive, like Game of Thrones - who will live and who will die.

    I really enjoyed it.
The narration was also really good which is important for me as otherwise I switch off. A great voice and a great story.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

The book is filled with wonderful characters that pulled me in deeper with every page turned It felt like Star Wars in the respect of having a strong feeling you’re seeing one small piece of the universe

    "Action packed"

Action from beginning to end. Interesting characters and plot idea. Some things fell short for me. The characters behaviors seemed to flip flop and waver. And Dust got a little too whiney for me at times but not enough that I didn't make it through to the end.

"Hits the ground running and keeps you hooked."

    -Story-
Brother Dust: The resurgence gives you exactly zero seconds to get your bearings before the crazy ride this book is begins. I would say at a few points it could have slowed down just a tad to give the reader a bit more of a breather, but as it had me hooked it must have been doing something right. The protagonist has an interesting power, being that he is a living hodgepodge of sentient dust particles, and with that he has the drawback of having no sense of touch. I was hesitant about him at first, but Steve and Aaron won me over with the scene where Brother Dust is experiencing sensations for the first time. After that I couldn't help but root for the guy.

    -Narration-
Svott Berrier did an excellent job here. Vocal range was nice and I didn't have any problem following who was who after each character had spoken a few times. I especially enjoyed the security guard turncoat, the way he voiced his dry sarcasm had me hitting pause so I didn't laugh over the story.

    -TL;DR-
Book feels like it goes a mile a minute and it mostly works for this book, great narration and fun characters will hook you and keep you wondering what's around the next bend.

    -Obligatory disclaimer-
I received this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

    Story
"Unique lead character on a quest for justice."

Beaulieu and Hall's sci-fi adventure was good solid entertainment. Right from the introduction I became intrigued to know more about the awful event that was destroying a planet, and what led a new mother to be left alone to die in the dirt as her friends and family fled for safety. Brother Dust is a unique being with the ability to change his form. He desperately wants to shut down the industrial core mining that's gutting his planet of its life source. He'll learn some secrets as he fights his way towards justice, including one secret that will challenge his identity and test his resolve.

Solid storyline, interesting characters, and an unexpected ending. They all add up to one fun read (or listen, in my case). Scott Berrier's narration brings life to the reading and enhances the story. There's plenty of room to expand the series, and I look forward to more.

I was provided a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for my unbiased review. Many thanks for this opportunity.

"Much death and destruction, but a good story"

If you like on the edge of your seat sci-fi, I think you might enjoy this story. The non-stop action begins with chapter one and immediately drew me in to the story. There is a bit too much death and destruction for my taste, but it's a good story. I loved all of the characters and their relationships with one another. I particularly liked the character, Dust.

I liked the way the back stories of the main characters were unveiled within the story.
It also has spiritual undertones which I liked.

I listened to the audio version and enjoyed the narration of Scott Berrier.

    "awesome space dytopian sci-fi"

Brother Dust an abomination born among the dust, fighting those responsible for drilling and bowing to the high father, while trying to give those on the planets affected a little more time.

This is one of the best sci-fi, space, dystopian books I have read/listened to. It started off fast and never slowed down, it had me hooked from the very beginning. The action and suspense was non stop, it kept my focus as I tried to figure things out before they happened, but it never worked. I really enjoyed this book and the imagination it took to create a world like this and its colorful characters, it is phenomenal, also phenomenal is the narration job by voice actor Scott Berrier keeping all the characters voices straight and different took a lot of skill. It is well worth the listen if you are a audiobook person like I am, I will certainly be looking for more books narrated by Mr. Berrier, not to mention books written by Mr. Hall and Mr. Beaulieu.

"An entertaining new book I hope becomes a series"

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I thought this was a pretty entertaining book. It reminded me, in part, of Dune, by it's gritty, visual descriptions, and dark characters. The pace was speedy and the characters were interesting. Some characters were more developed than others, but I didn't feel like that really detracted from the experience. If there are more books in the future, I'm sure things would only improve as the authors' story is built even more.
