Summary

For Ianthe, war is all too familiar. A former soldier in the Astra Militarum, she now serves Inquisitor Covenant as an agent of the Throne. Her first mission sees her investigating a cult called the Children of Eternity. Falling foul of the local Enforcers, Ianthe soon learns that war in the shadows is seldom straightforward and that the local, angry law-keepers are the least of her troubles.

Gripping

Standard mix of great story, action, voice acting and atmosphere that you would expect. I only wish it had been longer, though there is another two in the series. Still it would've been nice to hear more.

Anyway. Great stuff

love the audio drama, but pricey

a good story and very well told with sound effects to boot.

get on offer though as full price feels a bit steep.

Amazing but a bit short

Awesome story. Great characters. Spectacular delivery and a great introduction to a new series. Enjoyed it so much I wished it was longer

very short and very sweet

Now, I should admit from the start I prefer audio books to be read in one voice, and when I hear it start like a radio play a sort of hole opens up in my dark cynical soul. But this story changed that. I like it, nay I loved it.
First the acting. The actors were great, the right balance of energy needed to translate in a purely audio medium and yet subtle enough not to be like its yelled across a theatre by well meaning but scene gnawing thespians. 40k has its own feel, a dash of high sci-fi, a drizzle of earnest drama and not just a little dollop of camp. A difficult ingredients list to get right and this did it perfectly.
Now the story. Basic and tight but not thin. You get the impression of depth; each character is, yes, a stereotype (badass, stoic hero/wisecracking side kick and trusty robo companion) but these are just entry points to build upon. I'm hoping there's more of this story, a bigger scale and series. if not, then there bloody well should be.
in short (too late), it's a ripping yarn and well worth every penny. We'll done.

too short and light

good actors, but super linear and way too short. 1 credit should buy 20+ hours of entertainment.

Too short, too weak

I thought I was going to struggle finishing this one but then it abruptly ended after a very short time and took my money with it. Nice.

Good story, too short and therefore pricey.

Good story, very short. Won't get the rest of the series unless as an anthology

Disjointed.

The presentation jumps about between Recollection, Description, and Audiodrama. Makes for a disjointed mess without any pacing or flow.
