Survival, book 1:

Set in the UK in the immediate aftermath of a mysterious illness which swept the country and left millions dead, the series follows the trials facing a reluctant hero, Dan, and the group he forms around him. They must battle the elements, find sufficient supplies and equipment to survive, and protect themselves against the most destructive force on the planet: other people.

Banding together those he found along the way, he has to fight to keep them safe.

To keep them alive. To survive.

Humanity, book 2:

The survivors have established a home, but they still have to face the brutality of human nature.

Not only do they have to survive, they must keep their humanity.

    "Finally! A sensible post-apocalypse book. "

No zombies, aliens, crazed lunatics, et al. to be seen. Instead, this is a gripping story about what starting over is likely to be like. It reminds me of the school Sociology lesson 'at the end of civilisation, who do you choose to be in your new society and why' meets Tom Clancy, and then topped off with the sublime talents of RC Bray. I hope the rest of the series doesn't descend into cliche, because books 1 and 2 are definitely a new cut of cloth.

    "Very enjoyable"

Read the entire series twice, and was interested to see how RC Bray pulled this off. I generally find it odd reading a book after listening to an audible version, but thoroughly enjoyed this. I especially like the no zombies aspect of this story, and the entire series proves they really aren't needed to created a gripping story. Many of the weapons that are liberated in the story aren't standard British Army weapons, which could be confusing until you realise the army bade Dan visits is Hereford. Excellent series and will definitely get the rest in audible as well

"Good welcome to the end of the world"

I've always liked survival story's , zombie apocalypse books and such stuff .
This is a very good story with some decent characters that made me smile , with a sensible and petty realistic take on the survival of people here in the uk after a virus/ plague wipes out most of the population and the dangers and challenges of starting again . My only gripe with the book is some of the weapons in the book would not be readily found in the uk and are often American weapons . Uk military generally use SA80,s and the susat sights or plain iron sites not m4's with red dot sights ( that's mostly call of duty nonsense ) I know this from my own time in the British Army all be it some time ago I don't think things haven't changed that much . The descriptions of the weapons are right , correct ammo etc , Gpmg is a correct term for our mounted machine guns but it often just the wrong weapons in the settings , it's the only thing wrong in an otherwise gripping and excellent story. It's nice to here Sainsbury's and Morrisons setting backgrounds for a book with may other British shops helping ground the book in a recognisable setting for us English folk .
The narration is ( as always ) spot on by R C bray . I'm looking forward to the rest of the books coming to audible .

"A welcome fix after Arisen Series"
Would you consider the audio edition of After It Happened to be better than the print version?

RC Bray yesterday again at his finest (although some dodgy accents). I haven’t read the print, but loved the 2 audiobooks. Great characters, great story and the imagery it conjures up when listening to it is outstanding. Listened to this in 2 days.

What other book might you compare After It Happened to, and why?

After listening to the Arisen Series about zombie apocalypse, I was in desperate need of a new series. And I found it!!. Not such a military focus as Arisen, an a bit more “real world”, as far as an apocalyptic story can be. If you liked Arisen, you’ll love this. But only 2 book available!! Hurry up RC Bray, get in your cupboard and start reading!!

Have you listened to any of R. C. Bray’s other performances? How does this one compare?

I’ve listened to several after my initial introduction via The Martian. He is my “go to” narrator. His characters, accents, and intonation is second to none.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

“When it’s the end of the world, the British just keep going. Tea, Caravans, Politeness and Looting”

    Any additional comments?

HURRY UP AUDIBLE. I NEED MORE FROM THE SERIES!!

    "Not bad "

first book I've read where I recognise things as in the supermarkets in the book. I had a laugh when hearing them.
overall not bad of a book. R.C. Bray, audio book legend. does a good job as usual. his voice sounded slightly different with this one though.
went to kindle and got book 3.

"great story and interesting take on survival"

this was a great series of books and I will be following up to hear how it plays out. one of the most refreshing parts is that it isn't centered around a "prepper" that was proven right, it takes onto account everyday people forced into extreme situations.

Finally an apocalyptic story that shows what could really happen in a full blown catastrophic bio pandemic. Well done and masterfully performed by RC Bray the master. Cannot wait for the next instalment. Great series.

    "Barely entertaining."

Though the narration was great, the story was almost a carbon copy of The Walking Dead show, subbing in plague for zombies. This includes the personality of the protagonist, the 'new civilization' moving to a prison, and then getting invaded by another group of folks that felt wronged/entitled. I have no problem with mimicry, but this wasn't even done well. Will be returning.

"Devon C. Ford and And R.C. Bray did a great job! "
If you could sum up After It Happened in three words, what would they be?

    Very Enjoyable Read

What other book might you compare After It Happened to and why?

DJ Molles’ Remaining series and The Arisen series but without Zombies!

Which character – as performed by R. C. Bray – was your favorite?

Being a huge R.C Bray fan, it's hard to say, I liked them all

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes!

    Any additional comments?

Finally, a great apocalyptic book series, it’s been a while since I’ve heard a decent one.
