Summary
Halloween Trick or Supernatural Threat? Halloween is a spooky time of year in sleepy Verona, Indiana, but when a local high school wrestler goes missing the holiday takes a sinister turn. The season becomes truly creepy when another hunky, young athlete disappears and a long-forgotten local legend comes to life.
Soon, all tremble with fear as the once-benevolent guardians of the fields stalk the young jocks of Verona High School. The disturbing situation becomes personal for Marc Peralta when Dorian, his boyfriend, disappears. Marc begins a desperate search to uncover the secrets of the past and find Dorian before he too is transformed into a scarecrow corpse.

Not Good but Not Bad
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The book tried to be a gay coming of age tale, a love story, a suspense novel, and a mystery all at the same time, but it fell just short of all of those things. I think a little less attention to the back story and more attention to the "scarecrow" part of the story would have filled in a LOT of open gaps in the story and would have made it flow better.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Unfulfilled. Very few of the deeper questions were answered.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
The narrator wasn't real good in this one. In my last review for this writer/narrator team, I thought it worked well, but this time around, I was a little put off by the narrator's voice.
Was Scarecrows worth the listening time?
Yes, it was rather entertaining and for the most part, it held my interest.

Perfect for Halloween!
As always, Mark hits the spot with his stories. they are all filled with sex. seduction, entrique, and lots of questions. But this book is good. but the narrator doesn't image enough to put the listener in the action. And this book is more in line with Halloween and its filled with all kinds of twists & turns!

Couldn't listen to it
Probably the worst narrating I've ever heard. Couldn't get past the third chapter. His different character voices are horrible.
