Story
When forensic pathologist Lucy Trask stumbles across a mutilated body in her local Baltimore park, its face unrecognisable, her sole concern is that it might be her old school teacher Mr Pugh. But the victim is actually another man from her past. Who killed him and why he was left for Lucy to find is unclear but what appears to be a number "1" burned into his back indicates that this corpse won't be the killer's last victim. When a second branded body is discovered, Detective JD Fitzpatrick and Lucy are forced to ask themselves how many more lives are at risk.

Say you're Sorry for choosing this narrator

dreadful narrator
enjoyed the story, great to meet some new characters and catch up with a couple of familiar "faces"
what really put me off was the narrator. I am aware that he is male and female voices are challenging but they all sounded like really bad drag acts, even the men. If the story hadn't been gripping I'd have given up.

That narrator needs to say sorry!
Good story as usual from Karen Rose but ugh, that narrator! Parts of it were like he was reading from a page that he'd only just been handed. Pauses mid sentence that I presume he thought were dramatic but actually often lost the context of the meaning. I enjoyed the story but this narrator spoiled it for me. It was painfully bad acting so if you're a die hard Karen Rose fan, you'll put up with it but if you aren't avoid this until it's re-recorded!

Mixed feelings
I enjoyed the build up to the outlining of the serial killer and the workings. The story had many elements most of which came together well. I did find the dabbling in soft pornographic story telling like a bad “dirty mag” story and it didn’t enhance the story and was quite off putting and unnecessary. The narrator had strange voices for female characters and a drawl that was too slow. But overall a good listen.

Terrible narration
I’ve listened to every single Karen Rose book, and lived every single one. I’ve gotten to chapter 4 of Say You’re Sorry and I’ve finally turned it off. I looked ahead to see the next book in the series also has this guy narrating. So that’s it, I won’t be listening to this series at all now. He is slow getting his words out and his voices for the characters are awful. Sorry Karen Rose.

Not her best
While I still enjoyed the story, it has never taken me so long to finish a Karen Rose. The worst narrator I have ever heard. It made it very difficult to listen to. It may be the voices that ruined it for me but not one of the strongest storyline. Role on the next one.
