Summary

Maxwell Morgan has always been a very practical guy. He started working at age 15 because his foster family was stretched thin. He joined the army right out of high school to earn money for college. Even after getting his first job after college, he kept working the three jobs that let him get there—National Guard infantryman, farmer, and blacksmith.

About nine months into his new job as an HR generalist, Max’s boss arranged a one-week team-building event for the team. Max and his five attractive female coworkers boarded the plane for Sheridan, Wyoming, and then things went sideways.

Suddenly, they were going…somewhere else. What's a practical guy to do?

A new beginning for a great story

I went out on a limb and purchased this book for something new. I was pleasantly surprised at the storyline and unique telling of the story. It just flowed together and made a great story. The narrators did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life. It was done so well that they became real people. It was sad that the story came to an end because I wanted more.
I eagerly await the next book of this series.

interesting

if you like harems and going back in time, then this series is for you, plenty of sexy times and fighting, but a quarter of the book is a run up to the actual plot. Now, i liked it and hated such a long intro it was a bit like a ula blah blah six foot ex ranger likes animals gun nut shags loads of women but can not settle down with feelings of being abandoned, basically every womens wet dream, oh hes hong like a donkey as well.

Lucky man

A great story without the normal dragons or demons, just a fun bit of normalcy until the ladies start to enjoy the hero. Great story and narration.

Survival in the Wild for Soldier and his Harem

First book I've listened to from JG Jerome and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Former Soldier Max has retired for the military and goes into human resources back in the U,S. On a team building trip goes wrong he and his female co-workers look to survive in the Wilderness. This was a really good take on the survival genre as the MC and co-workers are transported back in time into the 3rd centaury during the reign of the Roman Empire, where the group collectively lack the skill to survive.

The narrators did a really solid job with this audiobook, I recently listened to Raven House which was narrated by Jonathan Waters and like that title he was excellent in brining the MC to life. This was my first time listening to Maeve York and thought she did a great job and had a wonderful range for all of the female characters.

Good Series Starter

This book was a nice change of pace from my usual fare in that around the first third of the book is an in depth character introduction & relationship development. This helps make the characters very real feeling but it does leave only a little room for getting the characters to where they need to be and facing them with challenges. Hopefully the next book in the series comes soon as now that everything is set up those should be much more action packed.

Basically audio porn

There’s not much of a story to be found here. Mostly just the male teenage hormone fantasy.

A bit Dull but ok and then stupid

Unfortunately I stopped listening to this.

It took a looooong time to get to the relatively interesting story. The beginning introduced a bunch of often implausible characters that waffled melodrama (and some unpleasant stuff that should be in a different book).

We then had the time travel and after that the book levelled into just acceptable but a bit dull. Lots of survivalist stuff about how to make a roof and process hunted animals. I was fine with all that.

The steamy stuff is also not so good, but acceptable because it was amusing and fun and might have improved in the rest of the book.

Then the book got stupid and I can't continue. I may pick it up again but I doubt it, I hope I can find better. Disappointed to have wasted a credit (and a few hours).

Apart from the Maeve's German accent (just my opinion), the actors were good and they deserve better material.
