About this listen

He's about to meet his match.

When teenagers from the same side of the tracks collide.

The second born son in a broken marriage, Joey Lynch has spent a lifetime picking up the pieces of a family unraveling. When his older brother Darren skips town on his first day of secondary school, twelve-year-old Joey finds himself thrown into the role of protector to his younger siblings and mother. Plagued by self-loathing, and furious with the world, he grapples with teenage life, his unwavering sense of duty to his family, while balancing precariously close to a life of addiction that threatens to swallow him whole. The only light in his sea of darkness is his boss's firecracker of a daughter who refuses to back down. A girl who just so happens to be his classmate.

Aoife Molloy has never been backwards in coming forward. Her bubbly and self-assured nature has never led her astray. Until her first day of secondary school when she collides with a hotheaded boy who sparks a burning curiosity inside of her that only grows stronger by the day.

Falling into a complicated friendship with her father's apprentice, Aoife works to unravels the secrets around Joey Lynch's life, while he desperately fights to keep her out.

Friendship, devotion, and first love all come together in Saving 6, the first of two books for Aoife and Joey.

Based in Ireland, the Boys of Tommen series is bound to captivate and lure you into the world of rugby, hurling, love, and teenage heartbreak.

I always knew that Joey Lynch would break my heart but my God I didn't realise he would break it this much.
I loved every second of this book Joey and Aoife are the epitome of soul mates. this book was so hard to listen to in some places as I knew it would be but I found myself sobbing for the Lynch children.

I really liked the way that the book was set out with the years and as always the chapter titles were catchy. This book was a whole ass journey I felt utterly rung out after reading and I know that this is just the beginning. I dont know if I can jump straight into book 2 ilorin if I need a little break!!

The narrators were so good and brought Joey and Aoife to life perfectly and made me enjoy the book even more.

Binding 13 sucked me in and had me laughing and crying, but this was all consuming, the emotions in the characters are so raw, written so well I feel like I've been through it all. Joey's desperation at the situation he is in is devastatingly sad, it paints the path of so many, falling into depression and finding solace in addition. I love the way the two stories of Shannon & Johnny and Joey have been interwoven sheding light on the Lynch's back story, if you've read Binding 13 you'll know there is light at the end of the tunnel for Shannon, but is there Joey...?

Heartbreaking

Absolutely love this series of books, the books draw you in to the lives of these families and their friends. I have laughed and cried for them which could look rather strange as I'm walking the dog listening to audio 😅
