Summary

A vicious serial killer is holding the country to ransom, publicly - and gruesomely - murdering his victims. When a man is burnt alive on a bonfire, it seems like a tragic Guy Fawkes Night accident. But with the discovery of a young couple on Valentine’s Day - each with an arrow through the heart - something more sinister becomes clear. A "calendar killer" is on the loose.

Detective Mark "Heck" Heckenburg is up against it. With a rising body count and the public’s eyes on him, Heck must find the killer before he executes more victims. Because this killer has a plan. And nothing will stop him completing it.

A heart-stopping and grisly thriller that will enthral fans of Stuart MacBride and Katia Lief.

A good story with many twists and turns.

Loved the story. There were many twists and turns throughout but it keeps the reader engaged.
Heck's character is developing further as more of his history with Jemma is revealed.

The narrator was again outstanding. The story gripping and hat about believable. The pace was just right. Loved this book and can't wait for the next one.

another great tale from Paul Finch

Paul Thornley takes you on a fast and compelling pace, only he can put so much into a story. I have started to follow both writter and narator as they make a great team.

Best narrator ever!

Great book whose pace is lightning towards climax. We search for books by narrator as we love this guy and came across "Heck". Listened to lots of Paul Thornley narrations and his accents are brilliant and he makes all characters both young, old, male and female utterly convincing. Check out Jack Nightingale series (Stephen Leather author), also narrated by him.

Great Story which was very well read!!

I am becoming a real Paul Finch Fan. Book 2 was so well written and read that I am itching for my new credits to come through so that I may continue the adventures of Mark Heckenburg, especially and with Paul Thornley as the reader. This one comes highly recommended from me and was a little less predictable (for me at least) than Book 1 (Stalkers). Book 3 is called The Killing Club and will be moving from "Wish List" to "My Basket"
