Summary

From the number one international best-selling author of Holy Island and Impostor

After a busy year fighting crime, DCI Ryan and his team of murder detectives are enjoying a festive season of goodwill, mulled wine and, in the case of DS Phillips, a stottie cake or two - that is, until a freak snowstorm forces their car off the main road and into the remote heart of Northumberland. Their Christmas spirit is soon tested when they’re forced to find shelter inside England’s most haunted castle, where they’re the uninvited guests at a ‘Candlelit Ghost Hunt’. It’s all fun and games - until one of the guests is murdered. It seems no mortal hand could have committed the crime, so Ryan and co. must face the spectres living inside the castle walls to uncover the grisly truth, before another ghost joins their number....

Murder and mystery are peppered with romance and humour in this fast-paced crime whodunnit set amidst the spectacular Northumbrian landscape.

Another riveting DCI Ryan story from LJ ROSS. Great for curling up in an armchair by the fire.

An entertaining easy read.

Enjoyed this shorter than usual DCI Ryan book. Simple plot but fun to read.

I nearly didn’t buy due to some of the negative comments but glad I did.

Predictable story

Johnathan Keeble was excellent, as always!! The story was poor and very predictable, what a shame….

Standard kept up!

Although a short story the suspense was excellent as normal! Always a good story with twists and turns and always read well by Jonathan! Excellent as usual!!

Not the usual standard but an enjoyable listen

To appreciate this book you need to have read the previous books, I enjoyed this book because I know and love the main characters. This book I agree with other reviewers isn't up to LJ Ross usual standard.

Start at the beginning with The Infirmary which is the prequal to the first book and get to know all about the characters who are all pretty in realistic but that is the joy and escapism of the book, but be prepared for a bit of gruesomeness.

Errrrrr

Not as gripping as usual but still enjoyable. Tales me away from reality, which is always a nice change
