Summary

History runs deep. Love runs fast. And Avery Greene...runs the hell away.

Left with scraps from several broken relationships, carpenter Avery Greene builds herself a safe and steady life in upstate New York. No love. No loss. No problem. But when she makes a jarring discovery in her grandmother's attic, it cracks her stable life at its vulnerable foundation.

In search of a permanent fix, Avery finds herself at the Sea Springs Inn, a bed and breakfast in the Outer Banks - where rip currents roll, sand dunes shift, and her strikingly gorgeous hostess throws her plans completely off course.

Embarking on a new journey doesn't come without squalls, and just as Avery adapts to her surroundings and the possibility of love, a violent storm strikes the North Carolina coast. Will the fear of heartbreak anchor Avery to the same drawn-out plans? Or will she revise her design, remodel her heart, and finally add love to life's blueprint?

Cannot say enough about this book!!

I freaking loved this story. The writing was amazing but the narrator nailed it!!! She was amazing and I cannot wait to hear other books she has narrated for. Same for the author, she is awesome and I can't wait to read more!!!! Thanks to you both for doing such an amazing job!! This one is a keeper!

Irritating

The book itself was ok. What drove me crazy was at the end of practically of every sentence the narrator ended with he said, she said, Olivia said …….It’s like the author doesn’t think the listener is intelligent enough to be able to follow the conversations in the book.

Girl gets girl…

Enjoyable for a basic girl gets girl, girl loses girl, girl gets girl back plot.
It took an awfully long time for girl to get girl though, and then the conflict was extremely manufactured for the sake of conflict. (Okay, so this may just be art REALLY imitating life lol)
Girl getting girl back was predictable and telegraphed.
Despite all of that, I enjoyed the listen.

Sad but Enticing

This story was sad but persistence can be like chipping away at bark on a tree with a butter knife. It took a while to truly bring out the plot and have a descent ending.

Fabulous Love Story

This was a fabulous love story. It's very rare that a book makes my heart rate increase, but this one did. I felt the emotions these women were feeling. The narration was absolutely perfect too. One of the very best romances I've ever read. Loved it !!

Not an ordinary romance story

Extremely well written and with complex relatable characters. Actress really captured unique voices for each one as well. A pleasure!

Great listen!!

This is my first book from this author. I'm so glad I didn't listen to some of the reviews. There are a few times where a description of something goes overboard but the storyline is great!

So much inner melodrama in main character is tiresome

The main character's navel gazing and melodrama are tiresome. I found myself rolling my eyes and already formulating my critique. Hyperbole as well in terms of characters' attributes. The author's indulgent day dream needs some editing to be a good listen. Too much soft porn in romance. Convince reader of romance without resorting to graphic moment by moment description cuz all audiences not into vicarious sex.
