Summary

An epic and heart-rending jungle adventure from the bestselling author of Kaspar and Born to Run.

For Will and his mother, going to Indonesia isn't just a holiday. It's an escape, a new start, a chance to put things behind them – things like the death of Will's father.

And to begin with, it seems to be just what they both needed. But then Oona, the elephant Will is riding on the beach, begins acting strangely, shying away from the sea. And that's when the tsunami comes crashing in, and Oona begins to run. Except that when the tsunami is gone, Oona just keeps on running.

With nothing on his back but a shirt and nothing to sustain him but a bottle of water, Will must learn to survive deep in the jungle. Luckily, though, he's not completely alone…

He's got Oona.

Running wild

It was really imaginative and emotional.
A perfect tribute to a real story, especially from Michael Morpurgo. I loved every second of it.

The book

This book is a wonderful read and it is perfect for all ages.
It’s also very nice that Michael Morpurgo narrated it himself

Great Story.

I thought Michael Morpurgo’s Running Wild was a very true way of looking at, in a way, the the fires in the rainforests. The story was fantastic, Michael Morpurgo paints the picture of the elephant and Will and of his whole life so well that you feel you are living every second, every emotion and every word.
I definitely recommend this audiobook to anyone personally I think it’s one of Morpurgo’s best books.

Amazing story

I loved this story. It was heartbreaking in places but the way it was told was so moving and hopeful. The relationship Will had with the elephant and theorangutans was wonderfully described and so convincing. It made me want to run away to the jungle and save orangutans from deforestation and poaching.

Never wrong with a Murpurgo book

An enchanting tale, despite the fact that it has a very sad start.

Michael Murpurgo books are in the children’s category on audible, persoanlly I think this needs to be reviewed as so many people are missing out on this amazing author who can enchant young and old alike.

There is an added bonus that Mr Murpurgo narrates this book, so often this can be a recipe for disaster but not with this author.

I have listened and read to so many of his books and he never disappoints.
