Inspiring

Great story and wonderful writing.
Amazing description of the Spartathon

Didn’t like the staccato nature of his reading

Inspirational

Absolutely loved this. A must read or listen for any runner. Vassos narrates it well and brings together lots of interviews from other ultra runners as well as telling his own story.

Inspirational and motivating

Loved the book and Vassos’ laid back but focused (if that is possible) approach to running. Easy listen on my (not so) long runs

Inspirational

Genuinely one of the most inspirational books I've ever read. Vassos' enthusiasm for running is infectious and when listening to this (when not already running) I couldn't help but feel like I wanted to go for a run.

Energetic reading

Lovely book, beautifully read with lots of energy. Loads of examples of great sounding runs. Just annoyingly talented and able without all that much training!

Funny, interesting and well written

Really enjoyed the book. I thought it was funny and well written. I already enjoy running, but the authors passion for running really shines through and is very infectious. However I did find his voice quite difficult to listen to. Not his actual voice or accent, but he has a very stop-start way of talking, which I found really difficult to listen to. At the beginning I kept thinking my phone was pausing whilst I was running. It felt a bit like listening to a CD with scratches on. I feel bad for saying it, but thought it might be helpful feedback.

Epic!

Utterly enthralling! Wonderful stories of the trials and triumphs of long distance running, woven artfully together. The narration by the author was absolutely fantastic, and I didn't want the book to end. I'm so glad that I gave this a try. If you are considering trying this too don't hesitate - it will light a fire for running trails, and for running further.
