I love reading this book it’s taken me ages to listen to it but it feels like Dolly Parton is with you. It makes the book feel alive when she’s talking.

Once you get used to the narration this is an enjoyable listen. Allow yourself a few chapters before you check out. The topics incorporate the abuse of women, I wouldn't recommend it if that will be triggering for you.

I didnt know what to expect of this book and album project but knew it woukd be ultimately uplifting. It has to be heard, with all the voices, and not read, I believe, to be fully enjoyed.
I liked it. The album isn't going to be a massive music hit but, as part of the project, it works.
The book won't win any literary prizes but, again, as part of the project, it works.
I recommend it!

First of all, this isn't my usual genre of reading/listening.
Bought the book for my wife, read the first few pages, got totally hooked so downloaded the audiobook. A real page-turner. couldn't put it down. Twist after turn, surprise after surprise. Sadness mixed with such love. A true masterpiece.
