About this listen

I am not his conquest. I am not his to claim. I am my own castle.”

Freed from the golden clutches of the Sun King, Lor now finds herself in the hands of Nadir, the Aurora Prince. Convinced she’s hiding something, he’s willing to do whatever it takes to make her talk. But Lor knows the value of secrets—she’s been keeping them her entire life—and she’s not letting hers go without a fight.

When Lor and Nadir team up to search for a lost item that holds the key to her past and her future, she isn’t sure if she can trust him. All she knows is she won’t fall for his promises and make the same mistakes again.

Lor also hasn’t forgotten her vow to destroy the Aurora King. As Atlas hunts her across Ouranos, Lor plots to bring down the Imperial Fae who took everything. But she soon realizes that the future of the continent is about so much more than just her shattered legacy.

Rule of the Aurora King is the second book in the Artefacts of Ouranos series and combines romance, intrigue, action, and adventure. If you love enemies to lovers, fated mates, and fake dating, don’t miss this exciting next installment!

Too often I lose interest in a book series somewhere in the second book. That is not the case here! I’m still very much intrigued by the story and characters, and I’m looking forward to seeing how the mystery unravels.

Great sequel!

I liked this book. I liked the first. It’s ok but world building is slightly lacking. I still can’t particularly tell you about the different kingdoms other than the heart queen’s. The female narrator is again very whiny in her fmc voice. Her narration of Circe and other female characters were much better. The male narrator sounds like he’s about to cry at any point. He has a nice voice for Nadir, but I think he’s trying to sound ‘sexy’ and a bit less of that at times would have made his chapters better. Nadir is very likeable, as are the other characters in their ‘family’. Circe’s chapters were interesting and gave the back story well. Overall an ok story, a bit long winded at times, lacking detail at others, but I’ll look forward to the rest of the series.

A good second book

Another great book, I can’t wait to hear what happens next, both voices are fabulous. On occasion I find my self shouting at Lor in frustration however I know she will find her way in the end, well I hope she does LOL

Although sometimes I get frustrated at Lor, I still can’t seem to get enough. Looking forward to book 3

Loving this series and will be diving into the third book, but will be reading it in an actual book because I cannot continue listening to the male actor doing the FMC's (and other female character's) voice! The chapters are read from the POV of either the MMC or FMC so the male actor reads the whole chapter for the MMC POV and vice versa for the female actor. If you're going to have a male and female actor read the book, then at least get them to read the relevant male and female parts rather than switching between the two. Not only is it off putting when they read the parts of the opposite sex, but you end up with two different voices for the characters which I found annoying.

If you're into Romantasy and have enjoyed ACOTAR and the Empyrean series then I highly recommend this! Finally, I think the spice in this is very well written 😉

Delicious tension!

I really didn't know what to expect after Trial of the Sun Queen, but this story is epic. I love all the relationships and how they interact and hope Lor & Nadir sort it out and Lor gets her magic back properly. Next book please!

Great Book
