Enjoyable storyline, terrible female narrator

Really enjoyed the storyline and the male narration (Joe Hempel) was well done. However, the female narrator (Laurel Schroeder) was horrendous! Her intonation and cadence was SO extremely distracting! She has that cadence that ends on a high, questioning note after every single sentence... It's annoying and aggravating as it totally detracts from the experience and even the actual story. It's enough for me to even consider skipping the rest of the trilogy!

Awful, only read if you’re under 14

I’m hesitant to write a bad review but this book was honestly not good. Maybe I shouldn’t have expected as much but the cover and synopsis made it sound like it was going to be a totally different book. It was basically the daily life’s of really well behaved teenagers. The shifter aspect was barely explored and they spent the entire story following the boring lives of the young characters. Sorry to the author because I know this was her debut novel but it was advertised as I was browsing paranormal romance novels. This is not a paranormal romance this is truly YOUNG adult.

Horrible Narration!

I am quite interested in this story but I cannot stand the drawn out sounds at the end of every freaking word for the female voice and there is no difference between the guys voices. It's hard to track the story when there are only 2 different voices for 6 characters!
I wasted a credit! I will not finish this book.

Waste of time

Not only is the story absolutely terrible but the performance was even worse.... The title and cover of this book is totally deceiving!

horrendous

I can't even listen to this because of her voice and the constant pausing and holding onto the end of every word. its is absolutely obnoxious! I wish I could get my credit back.

Ehh...

It’s an interesting story concept; However, it is poorly written and the narration is soooo robotic!

Bad.

Character development and storyline is incredibly slow or non-existant. I could barely stomach this story due to the child-like writing and plot development. I hope a high-schooler wrote this. If you enjoy the inane day to day activities and thoughts of immature high-schoolers, this is the book for you. When I got to the part where they each took the Harry Potter quiz to find out what houses they belonged to I wanted to start banging my head against a wall. The readers are also annoying. The woman is breathy and places emphasis on her words and in sentences at the wrong points. The man's voice makes the male characters sound puny. I wish I could get my money back. The book cover is awesome though....so there's that.

Update: I just looked up the author. She is definitely a teen. Or near one. In that case....good job on this book. Everyone starts somewhere. Getting published so young is an accomplishment.

Good Idea

I really like the idea of the story with is why i listened all the way to the end. The way it was written seemed stiff there were almost no contractions so every sentenced seemed formal and the female narrator held out the end of words at the end of a sentence making me want to speed up the recording.

Horrible storyline and narration

Both the female and male narrators were abysmal and the story wasn’t much better. Even As a humongous fan of this trope, I could hardly get through the book.
