About this listen
THE LAW HAS FAILED THEM. SEBASTIAN RUDD WILL NOT.
Sebastian Rudd take the cases no one else wants.
As a result, his last office was firebombed - either by drug dealers or cops. And things are about to get even more complicated.
Arch Swanger is a criminal lowlife and the prime suspect in the abduction and presumed murder of the daughter of the assistant chief of police. When Rudd agrees to represent him, Swanger lets him in on a terrible secret.
It's a secret Rudd wishes he never heard - and one that will threaten everything he holds dear.

What did you like most about Rogue Lawyer?
The main character is fascinating. The reader can't help being drawn in to an unusual life style for a lawyer. What did you like best about this story?
John Grisham doing what he does best. You really want to know what happens next.Have you listened to any of Mark Deakins’s other performances? How does this one compare?
The narrator did a good job. It was easy to follow the twists and turns of the plot and keep track of the diverse characters,Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I would have loved to listen to it in one go. I would not have been bored. But life doesn't permit.Grisham at his brilliant best.

Rogue Lawyer is no exception - I was hooked after the 3rd chapter (they're short, most less than 10mins long). He creates an interesting anti-hero in Sebastian Rudd, the main protagonist, and the story moves on quickly enough that you shouldn't lose interest.
However, unlike Grisham's best, Rogue Lawyer is more like a series of short stories that sort of intersect, but not really. There are 6 "sections" in the book, each introducing new characters, and I was expecting him to wrap it all up in a grand finale. Not so much. I enjoyed it, but was left feeling a bit cheated that the plot line for the final chapters wasn't a little more sophisticated.
Not his best, but not bad
