Rogue Ascension is a refreshing twist on familiar elements. It’s compelling reading with an interesting magic system. While the main character and premise are engaging, the author occasionally overindulges in moral reflection, detracting from the story's momentum (pet peeve).

Additionally, the audio book's brevity, coupled with a significant cliffhanger, frustratingly leaves you wanting more. Nevertheless, the book remains a great read, leaving me eager to explore further installments in the series.

The voice must have been hard to get right because it felt a little odd, I liked the fast progression but sometimes it felt like the main character adjusted a little too fast while at th same time I understand it might be a part of the plot
