In a powerful new vision Dr Brené Brown challenges everything we think we know about vulnerability, and dispels the widely accepted myth that it's a weakness. She argues that, in truth, vulnerability is strength and when we shut ourselves off from vulnerability - from revealing our true selves - we distance ourselves from the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives.

Story
Leadership is not about titles, status and power over people. Leaders are people who hold themselves accountable for recognising the potential in people and ideas and developing that potential. This is an audiobook for everyone who is ready to choose courage over comfort, make a difference and lead. When we dare to lead, we don't pretend to have the right answers; we stay curious and ask the right questions. We don't see power as finite and hoard it; we know that power becomes infinite when we share it and work to align authority and accountability.

Bittersweetness recognises that light and dark, birth and death—bitter and sweet—are forever paired. As Bittersweet shows, our obsession with happiness is not making us happy, healthy or whole. It's only by embracing our darker emotions—as well as the light—that we discover our deepest meaning and connection, love and joy. It can change the way we work, the way we create and the way we love—for it is the hidden source of our love stories, moonshots and masterpieces.

Summary
Random House presents the audiobook edition of Rising Strong, written and read by Brené Brown.
The physics of vulnerability is simple: if we are brave enough often enough, we will fall. This is a book about what it takes to get back up and how owning our stories of disappointment, failure and heartbreak gives us the power to write a daring new ending. Struggle can be our greatest call to courage and Rising Strong our clearest path to deeper meaning, wisdom and hope.

A book with great insight to emotions
I have been lately working on managing my responses in difficult times and Rising strong has given me a great insight to it. This book had been by far the best book I have read. It's my first book written by Brene Brown and I can't wait to explore the other books she has written down. Truly vulnerable in expressing her own emotions allowed me to understand that we all run sweat and are covered with dust in the arena, when we r knocked down. We all should be confident to rise up and face the battle . Thanks to Dr. Brene Brown not only for the courage to write a book on shame and Vulnerability but also for narrating it in her own voice, which made the audible truly authentic. Thanks again!

Wholehearted
I’ve been a fan of Brene Browns work since I read Daring Greatly, probably around the time it came out. I picked up the kindle version of Rising Strong also the year it came out but didn’t connect with it at first. Now, 2.5 years later hearing her read the book to me I feel so inspired and hopeful from learning what I have. I’ve learnt so much and was already going through this process with my counsellor, I just didn’t see all the steps like this and this understanding will be so helpful. Thank you for doing the work you’re doing, it’s so wholesome and life changing.

Important work
I now own five books by Brene Brown and each of them take me down when I read them. They bring hard truths to light and these are sometimes very hard to take. I thoroughly appreciate Brown's own vulnerability in her writing by sharing parts of her own story with us. She humanises a very human thing - learning about ourselves and course-correcting to live our best lives. It's hard. I feel exposed just reading her books and listening to her talks. Her ideas are useful in challenging and addressing the ugliness of our humanity yet humbling to emerge on the best side of our humanity. Brene Brown and others like her are doing important work. If there is anything we need more than ever in this age of machine-driven advancements and cold competition is to truly be and remain human with every uncertain step of life and still be able to have compassion for ourselves and others in the process.
