Summary

From HiJinks Ink Publishing and Shannon Mayer comes Rising Darkness, book nine in the USA Today best-selling Rylee Adamson novels. With over 1.5 million books sold, Shannon Mayer proves once again she can dominate her genre right out of the gate.

"My name is Rylee, and I am a Tracker."

When children go missing and the humans have no leads, I'm the one they call. I am their last hope in bringing home the lost ones. I salvage what they cannot.

One last salvage and the final battle with Orion and the demon hordes will be upon me. I don't know the name of the person I'm Tracking or what she looks like, so finding her is going to be...impossible. But she is the key to defeating the demons.

The world has been swept with a plague that is killing not only the humans but every supernatural it touches. While I'm out Tracking, my allies are being wiped out.

Worse than all of this? I am losing Pamela to the darkness with every second that passes.

I'm not sure even I can control any of these outcomes.

But that doesn't mean I'm not going to try.

Another great adventure

The none stop twists and turns just don't stop. Can't wait for the next book . I have read them in book form when I can't wait for the next audio book to be released , then I get the audio book as well its just that good. And added bonus the whole saga is part of kindle unlimited. Start from the beginning you won't be disappointed ,you will laugh ,you will have tears rolling down your face, but most importantly you won't be able to put them down and every character will become part of your family for a while. Enjoy the journey I know I have so far.

Pretty Good

Still getting use to the new narrator. I liked the way previous one voiced Alex better. Story is still moving along, except I think this one over uses "love is the answer." I feel like it is smashed into our faces so much I want to say, "We got it, we're not stupid!" It seems to dumb down the characters and makes parts of book really slow and obtuse. Overall, the story is still fresh and action filled. Ready to read the next one.

Amazing!!!

Oh. My. God! This is one of my favorite series, No lie. Has been since I first read Priceless and I swear its the BOMB! Bar none. And each book gets better and better and yes, better. The characters are so well developed. The storyline itself is amazing, and to beat all the dynamics of the entire story are Off. The. Chain. Shannon has not only created a world all its own but one that if you read it the way I do it's like a movie playing in your head as you go. Page to page you get to live in the action, pain, fear and the love that the characters bring to you. Each page has you so entwined in the story time flies. (Or at least it is for me)

Rylee, Blaz, Berget and Faris (who is still being taken over at times by Liam) have come to the time that they have to leave and go on the search for the Destroyer. The one person that is meant to be beside Rylee when she faces Orion in the final battle. If she doesn’t find her she is toast. And not the good buttered kind. She’d be the one on the side plate that’s burnt to a crisp. Eric, Ophelia and Coyote have stayed with her and Liam’s daughter to keep her safe while Rylee is away. There is a chance she won’t ever see her again. If things don’t go right. So to say Rylee’s mind is all over the place is putting it lightly.

The line of allies and enormous both are growing and it's time to put up or shut up.

The issue is me not the book!

I purchased this book 11 months ago by mistake. My tolerance for the supernatural is limited to the witches of The Wizard of Oz and those of Macbeth. I quit 3 hours and 10 minutes into the book. It seems the witches are the protagonists as they fight daemons, dragons, vampires, and zombies. I'm simply not part of the target audience for books of this genre.

No spoilers

As always Ms Mayer has given us a fabulous book. She is one of a few author's that is consistent in her writing. Mayer's books are full of action, suspense, laughs, and very well written characters. The world building keeps getting better and better. Highly recommend anything Mayer writes. The narration was done to perfection. Fortgang gives each character there own voice and what's so amazing about her is she seamlessly switches from one character to the other without missing a beat. The book is also read with emotion no mono tone here. Highly recommend this narrator. You take a master writer and narrator combine them and you have one hel of a book. I do not recommend you read has a standalone book all the books in this series tie together. PS the first 7 books in this series has a different narrator and she take some getting used to but stick with it's worth listening too.

love this book and the series

love the series, I was thrown off with the switch in narrator's, but I read the Riley series and it is same narrator on that series so it was not to much of an adjustment. I do like the original narrator more for this series.

weakest one in the series

I struggled to finish this one and it irritated me. Too much heaped on in a rushed sort of way. I find that I cannot even be bothered to buy the last book in the series to get to the final conclusion.

Dissatisfied

I am gonna finish this book but I do NOT like it!!!! While I understand that Pamela is a teen and needs guidance, her personality is weak compared to the last book. I love the storytelling! Lauren Fortgang always delivers! The inflection in her voice, the switch between characters is wonderful as always! I'm going to finish because I need to see how this ends

Awesome book!

This book has it all! Battles, struggles, friendship, love, family, death, a goal, and a great storyline. We even see a softer side of Rylee. The whole Faris/ Liam combo would be a little disturbing if I were Rylee. I'm still rooting for Doran.
