A spinoff of the Frozen Fate trilogy by Pam Godwin, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author.

Wolfson Strakh fought his way to freedom, and it still isn't enough.

With ink-stained fingers and his fierce Alaskan family at his side, he should feel whole. Instead, the past clings like scars, leaving a loneliness that won't release him.

Until Dove Rath blows it apart.

A runaway bride with a rifle, she's the dangerous fairytale princess of his dreams. But she isn't here to be saved. She's here to end her stepbrother, Jag Rath.

Ruinously handsome and lethal behind a keyboard, Jag drags old darkness into Alaska, twisting protection into possession and loyalty into hunger. Curiosity sharpens. Desire flares. Boundaries blur. Secrets stir.

Jag's past threatens the freedom Wolf bled for, the love he never expected, and the woman caught between them.

Now Wolf stands on another cliff, betting his life on love as everything ignites in a rise of ink and smoke.

The books in the Frozen Fate world should be enjoyed in order.

I wasn't sure I'd love Rise of Ink and Smoke as much as the Frozen Fate trilogy. I was also disappointed at first that Wolf didn't get his happy ending there, so I went into this audiobook with mixed expectations.

I couldn't have been more wrong.

This story was incredible from start to finish. It's an emotionally tough listen at times, and there are definitely moments that are heartbreaking, but every difficult moment serves the story. Watching Wolf's journey unfold was so rewarding, and his witty banter, resilience, and personality shine throughout. He quickly reminded me why he became such a memorable character in the first place.

The narration takes an already fantastic story to another level. The narrators bring so much emotion and authenticity to every scene that it feels like you're experiencing the story alongside the characters. They captured the humor, heartbreak, tension, and chemistry perfectly, making it impossible to stop listening.

If you loved the Frozen Fate trilogy but are hesitant about Wolf's story like I was, don't be. This audiobook exceeded all my expectations and was absolutely worth the wait.

❄️🥶 Frozen Fate by Pam Godwin has officially wrecked me. 🥶❄️

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I went in expecting a dark romance… I was NOT prepared for the emotional damage, the survival elements, the suspense, and the absolute chokehold this series would have on me.

Think:
🖤 Why choose
🏔️ Alaskan wilderness
❄️ Survival against impossible odds
🔥 Slow-burn relationships
💔 Trauma, healing & found family
😮 Plot twists that had me staring at the wall

The characters are everything. Frankie is such a strong FMC, and every MMC brings something completely different to the story. Their bond grows naturally through everything they endure, making every emotional moment hit that much harder.

🎧 The audiobooks? OMG INCREDIBLE!
Stella Hunter and Jack Hesperus absolutely crushed the duet narration throughout the trilogy. They brought every emotion, every tense moment, and every heartbreaking scene to life. If you’re continuing with Rise of Ink and Smoke, Anthony Palmini and Henry Kramer join the cast, and they’re just as phenomenal.

⚠️ This is a true DARK romance, so definitely check the trigger warnings before diving in.

If you love books that leave you emotionally destroyed, obsessing over fictional men and immediately searching for your next Pam Godwin read… this one belongs at the top of your TBR.

My god. The writing is outstanding the narration just perfection. What a series ♾️

Ahh what a finish to the series 😔 I loved it. Yes it’s got a lot of bad stuff yes it’s traumatic but the underlying story is just beautiful! What a fantastic author to be able to weave traumatic events into beautiful relationships, family & friendships! If I’m being greedy which I am I wanted more at the end more of the HEA! The whole series has been amazing one of my favourites. I love a story with a deep story & which has real relationships that are worked for. I love the romance & how it’s not traditional. I loved the fact you go from hating some characters to loving them. Just fantastic.
Also the narration was amazing 🤩

I loved it!

After binge listening to the 3 main books of The Frozen Fate series, it has taken me awhile to get to this but wow it was worth it! Now I may be wrong (I hope, I'm not) but this feels like a book that bridges to another series 🤞.
This is written very poetically and I feel it suits Wolf's character. Flamboyant, damaged and unapologetic.
I absolutely loved the performances of the narrators and will recommend the while series to anyone.

If I could give this more stars I would!
