About this listen

Some doors should not be opened.

Some can never be closed.

Jo Palmer’s peaceful and happy life is about to end.

Ash - the man she loves - will be arrested by the police.

Millie - her precious daughter - will be taken from her.

She will lose her friends.

She will doubt her sanity.

Someone is stealing everything Jo loves, and will stop at nothing.

Only finished this AUDIOBOOK because I had gone so far and chose not to give up on it.Could have easily been abbreviated and still gor the same story.

Predictable.

Couldn’t wait to get to the end just to get it done. Usually really enjoy the Tom and Becky books but the other main characters in this book were so irritating - especially the monologuing mother! Story was also far fetched and a bit silly. I wouldn’t bother with this one :(

Strange book from Rachel Abbott

I enjoyed the story. I enjoyed the narration. My problem was with the dialogue. It just didn't sound convincing, and felt stilted and contrived quite a lot of the time - to the point where it really began to grate and I considered giving up on the book. It's as if the storyline had been invented by Stuart macBride, but he gave it away and it ended up as a plot on Midsomer Murders. Still, I'm glad I stuck with it but I won't be following up with any more of Rachel Abbott's books.

A real curate's egg - good in parts

I have listened to a few audible books and although some were better than others none of them made me feel the need to write a review. But well done to this author, she had and kept my attention the whole way through. I’m only sorry I was in such a rush to finish it as now I have to find something else to read .. Caz

My first review - what a super book..

It is a well written story with a nailbiting thread running through it.
The scenario might be too close to real life. The fianale leaves you wanting more and is a conundrum none of us would like to have thrust upon us.

Look out.
