This is an academic work describing how the New Testament writers re-purpose Genesis 6:1-5 in their presentation of Jesus as messiah. Though every topic addressed in Reversing Hermon can be found in scholarly academic literature, Reversing Hermon is the first book to gather this information and make it accessible to Bible students everywhere. The book also includes lengthy appendices on the ancient debate on the inspiration of the book of 1 Enoch, New Testament allusions to the book, and academic resources for studying 1 Enoch and the Book of Giants from the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Since finding Michael S. Heiser I have come to understand how it feels for a blind person to have their sight restored or being able to see for the first time.
like Paul who was blinded on the road to Damascus the scales have been removed from my eyes.

NOW I CAN SEE.

Get the whole truth.

narrator was a little slow in delivery, would have preferred slightly faster narration, it was clear and easy to understand

Great subject matter

Another excellent book by Michael, one that really opens one's eyes to things one never knew.

My review

This book is only for those who are academics and already come to it with a lot of knowledge. what makes it worse, is that the author presents his ideas in complicated language and ways. you would have to be part of the Inner Circle of academics who study this to understand this book. I was really looking forward to having an understanding of the watchers and Genesis 6. The whole book requires a massive edit and simplification. it is definitely not for beginners who are seeking an understanding of this subject. the author has written many other books with interesting sounding titles but I am put off from reading them because of my experience on this one.

hopefully there are other books around that give you an overall big picture of this subject because this one goes way over my head

Disappointing, an extremely technical book
