Summary

Revenge is a lot of work.

When the original plan for his ex-wife goes awry, Martin Cantrell turns his mind toward a sweeter revenge: stealing their daughter’s affections. But he’s not the only one plotting, and his enemies are better at keeping to the shadows.

Meanwhile, Special Agent Megan Luchek gets a late night summons to the hospital to speak with a gunshot victim. She knows to expect almost anything, yet he still surprises her.

“Agent, if I die, save the girl”.

The girl turns out to be Katelyn Cantrell. Megan’s not the only one protecting her, and the other person has no problem killing to obtain their goals.

Can Megan prevent an assassination and catch a killer?

Revenge Makes It Sweeter

This book continues around where book 1 leaves off. Martin Cantrell must rethink his previous hit on his ex-wife. But the group he has hired does not renegotiate. Special Agent Megan Luchek is now assigned to protect Katelyn Cantrell. The story is fun and fast paced. My only issue was that the author never addresses the sons involvement in this. Nice easy to listen to narration.

Playing the fun parent in the divorce

Enjoyed listening to this book. Divorce is never fun you always have parents playing against each other. Then there's a twist of The Hired Hand spilling everything when he gets shot. I always love a good clean read or listen.

Very Entertaining

I received this book for free. I am voluntarily posting this review and all opinions expressed herein are my own. Megan becomes like a dog with bone while continuing to look into the Shadow Council and keeping herself alive from an unrelenting assassin. There is a lot of plotting and puzzling to put together the pieces coupled with some great action. Very entertaining read. The narrator, Liz Brand, does a wonderful job - distinguishing the characters and moving the action along. Very enjoyable.

Clean suspense continuation

I enjoyed this book. The narrator did a good job and her voice is enjoyable to listen to. The story is a quick light suspense with characters that draw you in. I can’t physically handle too much suspense so this was a perfect read for me. The series keeps you reading on. There’s not really a cliffhanger but enough of the story unfinished to want to continue.

Special Agent Megan is at it again

This books starts exactly where the first book left off. Agent Megan is recovering from her injuries and is ready to get back in the field. As she is about to prove to her boos she is ready, a case comes in that she is assigned to. She has to protect martin Cantrell's daughter from Martin himself. It sounds easy enough until there is another killer stalking the girl and someone else trying to protect her. The tangled web of people must be unraveled to save the girl. There is so much suspense and action in this story. I hung on every word. Liz Brand once again narrates this story perfectly. Her voice is easy to listen to. Liz brings the characters to life. Liz has a way of making the listener feel as if they are right there in the middle of the book. I look forward to hearing more from Liz Brand.
