Summary

In the future, the dead walk the streets.

Resurrection, Inc. found a profitable way to do it. A microprocessor brain, synthetic heart, artificial blood, and a fresh corpse can return as a Servant for anyone with the price. Trained to obey any command, Servants have no minds of their own, no memories of their past lives.

Supposedly.

Then came Danal. He was murdered, a sacrifice from the ever-growing cult of neo-Satanists who sought heaven in the depths of hell. But as a Servant, Danal began to remember. He learned who had killed him, who he was, and what Resurrection, Inc. had in mind for the human race.

Daft concept

Didn't enjoy this much, and may return it. The story is convoluted, but when you understand it it really wasn't worth the effort. The fundamental concept is so unbelievable (can't say what, spoiler alert) that it was all I could think about. Some passages were quite exciting, but some of it plodded along. The narration was OK, but not brilliant.

I can think of 6 friend that would love this...

but not me. It will get you to think, but it will be about nothing good. Im lame, I know, because I like happy endings and everyone getting what they deserve. I get into books to escape the awfulness of reality and this book shines a magnifying glass on reality. My Husband will love it because he likes sad and depressing stories. That's the only reason that I'm not going to return it. This book just wasn't for me.

Not the best

I expected a lot better from Kevin J. Anderson. He has done much better work.
