In Restoring The Wounded, Joseph P. L. Simmons invites us to confront a quiet yet urgent crisis within our churches—one that is often hidden beneath the surface. It is not a crisis of doctrine or belief, but one of emotional and mental health, felt by pastors, worship leaders, and churchgoers alike. While the church has long been a place of spiritual healing, it has often failed to address the deep emotional wounds that many of its members silently carry.Through a compassionate exploration of scripture, personal stories, and cultural insights, Simmons challenges the church to reclaim its role as a sanctuary for those struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and burnout. With grace and humility, he calls for a new kind of discipleship—one that does not shy away from pain but instead steps into it with empathy, vulnerability, and presence. In a world that demands strength, Restoring The Wounded is a call to lead with tenderness and to build communities where healing is possible, not just in the spirit, but in the soul.About the AuthorJoseph P.
