About this listen

The concluding volume in Robyn Young's epic, internationally best-selling Brethren trilogy.

After years of fighting in the desert sun - and secretly working for peace with the Brethren - Will Campbell returns to find his Scottish homeland under attack by his enemy, King Edward I.

Betrayed by those he has served since boyhood, torn apart watching his daughter plunge into a dangerous affair, Will must now forge his own path to peace - even if it leads through another battlefield. But a new threat is rising in France, where a warrior king will stop at nothing to achieve his twisted ambitions. The fight for the Holy Land is over, but the Temple's last battle has just begun....

Critic reviews

"Young writes with remarkable accuracy, action-packed efficiency and gut-wrenching violence" ( The Times)
"Satisfyingly complex" ( Sunday Telegraph)
"Compared to Bernard Cornwell's Azincourt, Requiem is 'More rollicking, even more fast moving and breathless...so pacy'" (Heat's Boyd Hilton, speaking on Radio 5 Live Books Panel)

Excellent conclusion to the trilogy. Beautifully read and one of most enjoyable listens I have had.

I probably would like the story - just my kind of book - but the narrator was literally unlistenable to. I must have tried 15 times, including later in the story but just had to switch off. Shame!

Great story ruined by dull and affected narration

Enjoyed the first two books but this deviates so far from the crusade/temple theme and only seeks to conclude the first two books in a drawn out and convenient narrative.

A drawn out ending to an otherwise good trilogy.
