Sweetly Sappy

Sloan struggles with emotions as she moves into her grandfather's house. He left it to her when she passed away. Moving into his house will force her to face a past she ran away from. Sully couldn't believe that Sloan had returned after all this time. He holds many emotions and resentments about their relationship. So does she. I really enjoyed this book. It was very sweet and very sappy. I felt connected to the characters in the book. Especially one that I won't talk about because bringing him up will create a lot of spoiler type content in my review. I try to keep spoilers out. It's definitely a feel good type of book. I didn't realize this was the sixth book in a series until after I'd started the book. I'll have to track down the first five. The only thing I really had an issue with was that most of the time the secondary characters were more in the background than anything. I feel like they should have been in the story a bit more. I also feel like there were scenes in the book that could have been drawn out a bit more. There were others that could have been explained better too. All in all this was a beautiful story. It was very sweet and frustrating. It's a story that brings hope and warm feelings. It's just an amazing story. I loved it. I fully recommend.

3.5 Second Chance Stars

I have so many mixed feelings regarding this story. I love second chance romance, and I loved the premise behind this story. However, I didn’t always like the characters, I wasn’t happy with some of their decisions or how they handled things (and I’m not talking about their decisions as teenagers), I’m talking about their decisions as adults and how they handled life going forward. They have a complicated past, and if they ever have a future together I felt that they needed to be more mature and open going forward. I wanted Carson to be more take charge, and I didn’t want Sloane to be less mean (that’s how I felt she was at times). The story was sweet and emotional and I couldn’t fault the narration. Zachary Webber was perfect as Carson.

Sully & Sloan!

I have been waiting for Sully's story, and finally get my chance to hear it! This second chance romance stole my heart. Carson and Sloan were high school sweethearts. Circumstances and poor communication tore them apart, and left both broken. Now that Sloan is back in Golden Beach, will she and Sully reconcile? I love their story. It's not an easy journey for them to find their way back and their struggle tugged at my heart. Yes, I was frustrated at times, angry and caught up in their drama, but it was a . So much miscommunication and speculation took us on the emotional roller coaster and finished the series with a beautiful ending. I am so sad to see it end! Kim Loraine is one of my favorites, and this contemporary series is one I have thoroughly enjoyed.

The narration of this book is wonderful. With Zachary Webber as Sully, we get his pain and emotional turmoil so clearly and can feel his love shining through. Lacy Laurel gives us Sloan with her hesitancy and push-pull with Sully. I loved the way their voices compliment each other how the feels just come through. This is a great team to end the series with bringing the culmination of Golden Beach together and giving me all the feels and love.

Bittersweet Romance

Well here’s a story of what being rubbish at communication deals you in life! Kim Loraine certainly made this a rollercoaster of emotions and guessing! Will they? Won’t they? With loads of twists and turns and unexpected plot changes, Such a strong storyline and if you ever wanted to bash 2 peoples heads together!!
Narration was great! Zachary Webber and Lacy Laurel we’re perfect (I actually thought there were 3 narrators) The characterisation was fantastic.
A great listen that had me hooked!
Definitely recommend by me.

Fantastic Work

Reviewing for Audiobook Obsession

Very sweet storyline and definitely swoon-worthy. Zachary Webber does a fantastic portrayal of Carson and has the perfect voice for this role making the characters sound every bit as sexy as the characters personality.

I really enjoyed getting to know the characters in this storyline and would happily read/listen to more from this author in the future.

Lacy Laurel is the reincarnation of Sloan and does a fantastic job in getting the characters inner emotions across.

All in all fantastic work.

What I liked/Didn’t Like about the narration: Zachary’s narration of this book played well with Lacy’s narration and they both put so much emotion into their characters.

What I liked/Didn’t Like about the book itself: This sweet swoony romance keeps you on your toes with wondering what will happen next.

Great storyline

Great storyline. Lots going on with fire fighting, sex, pregnancy and the on again off again of a relationship. Likeable characters.

An interesting mixed bag

I liked this story a lot, and there were a few plot twists that surprised me and kept it interesting, but it took a long time to get going. Were it not for the 5 star ratings and reviews of others insisting that it was great, I likely would have abandoned it, but I’m so glad I stuck it out, and you will be, too. Zachary Webber’s narration is perfection, as always, and he gets 5 stars. This was my first exposure to Lacy Laurel, and her narration lowers the overall performance score due to a number of issues, such as mispronunciation of common words (libary, flustrated) and poor enunciation in some key passages. Others have scored her highly, so it may just be a personal preference of mine, and I’d hate for anyone to miss out on the story as a result. I would encourage anyone considering this book to listen to the sample first.

Remnants

This is the perfect second chance love story. The pain these two went through because of a few different misunderstandings is heartbreaking to listen to. To see the hits keep coming even when you think you know what’s going on kept me on my toes the whole book. I wasn’t able to put this book down it was written and narrated so well. Definitely a must read!

Nice second-chance romance and a good audio duet

To be honest, I went for this book due to Zachary Webber’s participation in the audio. The author is new to me and I didn’t know the other narrator. But I saw it was a second-chance romance and besides, it was read in duet and I love such audios, so it was a double win for me. I had to listen.

The story was cute, sweet and sexy with a touch of emotions and drama here and there. Plotwise it was kind of predictable for the most part but it managed to surprise me a time or two. It was good for in-between books – not overly dramatic and a nice second chance romance and all in all a heartfelt story.

Zachary Webber was his awesome self as usual and nailed the character, putting so much emotion to his performance. I loved his act and it was good to hear him in duet although the female narrator Lacy Laurel sounded a bit off for me. It wasn’t bad per se, but I couldn’t get used to her way of pronunciation and her voice in general. I enjoyed the duet performance though.

The beginning was a bit slow and I couldn’t feel this insta love from the past and the feelings they still shared after all these years, but little by little some things started to unravel and the story got more dynamic. To be honest I loved the final part of this book the most with all the action, unexpected events and intense moments. Good ending.

This was a nice second chance romance with a good duet performance in audio
