Summary

Reese

He was one of the first things I saw when I woke up. He saved me. It's one of the things I'm able to retain day to day. His name is Adam. He's a paramedic.

And he saved me.

There's something in the back of my mind that I can't touch, but I can't shake it, either. It's urgent, important, but I just can't quite...remember.

Adam

When I saw him lying there in that wreck, I thought he was a goner. I've seen people die from so many things, even when I hoped and prayed that they would live.

I didn't do either one for him, yet there he is. It's just too bad he has no idea who he is or what happened to cause such a nightmare. I think some part of him does remember, though, because when you ask there's that hint of guilt in his eyes that doesn't quite go away.

I don't know what game he's playing, or if he's playing one at all. Our mystery man keeps my attention more than any other patient I've wheeled in before, that's for sure.

This amnesia romance book features a mysterious man with a dark secret that could set his entire world on its head. For adults only, please.

as good as the ebook

The story is always 4 or 5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B

My Review

Another great story I liked the fact that you used memory loss for the thief but your narrator was a bit bland at the start of the story and kind of spoiled it a little for me.

A well written Story full of agnst and love found

We open with a serious a tangled mess of a man; twisted and torn up. just waking up from being unconscious and lucky to be a live. He find's himself staring at a man in his what he soon realizes is a hospital room, who are you and where am I? Well for starters I'm Reese and I am here to help you get through this whole mess. He explains to him about the accident and what happened and how he helped him out. He has lost 3 year of his memory and Reese is patient and has a calming effect on Adam and helps him to remain steady and on course to getting better. As time progresses they begin to fall for each other, Adam even gets to meet Billy, Reese's 2 yo. son. They form a great bond, this is a very compelling and wonderful story. The narration adds so much to the over all enjoyment of this book! As in all of Mr. Bates books his character development is spot on and the lines flow so well. I am never disappointed with any of his books or Audibles. If you have the opportunity to be able to listen to "Remembering Love", please don't miss this wonderful book on Audible. An avid reader/listener in Rock Tavern, NY.

enjoyed it!

Did the story keep me engaged: yes
Were there any parts I found annoying: no
Did I feel an emotional connection to the characters: yes
Would I listen to it again: yes

Good story, good pace and interesting well developed characters. I liked Reese's support of Adam as he regains his independence.

Bump Turgeson does a good job on the narration, Adam's vulnerability and emotions are all there adding to the audio experience.

When is a Mystery Not a Mystery?

...when you've lost all of your memories.

A horrific car wreck leaves Adam with life threatening injuries and no memories of the past two years of his life.

The tension, fear, and anxiety comes through in the written word. The complete vulnerability and loss of self shines with Bump Turgeson's masterful storytelling.

Sometimes not knowing is best

Adam had a severe accident and he almost did not survive. Luckily for him this accident happened right in front of an off duty paramedic, Reece, His accident was so bad he had been in the hospital for a long time and recently woke up from a coma. When he wakes up he sees a strange guy in the room and once he can talk again he asks his mom and she informs him that is was Reece the man that saved him.

Reece never ever follows up on his patients. He does not allow himself do fall into that hole for fear he will not come back. That was until Adam, He would just sit in his room to keep an eye on him, When Adam wakes up he then can not stop thinking of him all day long.

Adam has lost the last two years due to his brain injury. He barely recognizes his parents, forgot he had a child and does not remember his job or boss or coworkers. He also does not know one of his friends who is always around.

After visiting they make plans to meet up once he leaves the hospital. Reece is not even upset when Adam forgets to call him.

Can Reece and Adam make it work? Will Adam recover from his injuries? Will Adam regain his lost memories? Can they figure out who caused the accident and why?

Sweet love story and WIlliam (Billy) is very cute.

Remembering Love

As a tail that starts with tragidy and ends with a family; I found the journey very interesting. The characters were well developed and played well off of each other. The naration was fantastic. Bump did a nice job seperating the characers and had a wonderful way giving inflections where it needed to be.
There were two areas in the story that repeated tat needs to be corrected but that was all that was wrong.
Thank you for a nice story.

Okay Story

I didn't fall in love with the characters. The story was just okay about a guy losing his memory after a car accident and meeting a guy that falls head over heels for him. While the story was great, the narration was.... just okay. Overall, the book was okay but the narration could be better.

Adam & Reese

Adam awakes after a terrible accident and subsequent memory loss. Reese watched Adam's accident, pulled him from the wreckage, and feels drawn to him. I enjoyed Adam rediscovering who he wants to be. There narrator had an odd, breathy voice with strange pauses.

Amnesia, such a nice trope :P

Okay, so I like the story, but I need to be honest and say that, at the beginning, Adam gave me such a stalkerish vibe that he made my skin crawl. I meant, he was obsessing about Adam, stalking him online, showing at his house, touching him without asking *shudders*

It got better, eventually, but I still am not a fan of alpha males, even when they are, you know, alphas :P But I liked how he interacted with Reese's kid, so that's a huge point on his favour.

And Reese, he's sweet, and he seems to be a better person now than the one who he was before the accident, but still, I'm not really happy with him getting scot-free from everything from his past.

But this is an entertaining story and I enjoyed it a lot.

Bump Turgeson does an ok job, although he needs to do a better job with translating emotions to his reading. And the editing could have been better.

great listen

Remembering Love by Aiden Bates is a contemporary m/m romance that has mystery/suspense, drama, romance and a few surprises. Adam and Reese are hot together. And sweet moments make it even better. I truly enjoyed this story and the characters.

Narration is done by Bump Turgeson. Clear and smooth recording and voicework. Highly enjoyable.
