Set in the 1940s during German occupation of France, remember, Paris follows Sophia, a young American, who arrives in Paris with only a suitcase, and a fragile sense of Hope. She finds work in a small café, determined to survive quietly in a city that’s being reshaped by war. Then she meets Derek – a Greek fisherman with a steady gaze, a weathered boat called the calypso, and a heart carrying its own scars. What begins as a simple connection soon deepens into something far more powerful. As the world around them grows darker, Sophia and Derek cling to love, strength, and the quiet promises that carry them forward. A story of resilience, heartbreak, survival, and second chances, Remember Paris reminds us that even in the hardest times, love can light the way.

It's really quite something to find beauty in a period of time with so many horrors. This stunning story manages to do exactly that. The way everyone is trying to live, to grow, to find art, beauty, and love. Finding the strength to challenge themselves to do what is right in a Europe that was being over run with darkness.

The narrator, Rachel Handler, fits the tone perfectly. She brings everyone to life distinctly, covering American, French and Greek accents beautifully, and making everyone feel so very real.

Her tone is light, clear and crisp, and narrates with a controlled delicacy that suits the beauty, innocence and inner strength of our female lead who is very much a flower in amongst the rubble of Europe.

A delicate and beautiful story
