Zen may be the answer you've been searching for!
Zen Buddhism is commonly misunderstood, and this is because people do not understand how Zen is different than Buddhism. It is often seen as a religion when it is not, and this sets people up to misunderstand what Zen can be and how it can be incorporated into your life. Zen can be used in conjunction with other religions, but it is more concerned about the present. Zen is something that is a way of life and healthy habits.
Zen is not meant to answer the philosophical questions that many people struggle with, like other religions. Zen is meant to bring you peace and happiness, as well as self-awareness. This is why people practice Zen Buddhism, and it can leave you both happier and healthier than you were before. It can boost your confidence and center your mind and body. Zen brings a sense of peace that many people have yet to experience.
Seven Reasons to Buy This Book
Disappointing. I did not get ''EVERYTHING'' to know about Zen just the story of Zen.....how does one get started? How to sit? Best position? Best breathing? Etc .etc. etc.
Although short it gives a brief intro to zen. The narration is a little dull the but book is good.
The topic has always fascinated me and the author covered the subject very well given the allotted time. It was an easy "listen" with interesting coverage. I especially liked the section which addressed Zen as a religion vs a way of life.. I'd recommend this as a good introduction to Zen.

it's gentle flow makes it sound simple, but when you pay attention to what is said it may take a lifetime to understand.
This was a very wonderful book. I really enjoyed it and it makes me want to practice zen. I hope I can find a teacher as good as the author of this book.
This is an overview story of what zen is and what you should know when starting to plan to become Buddhist. It gives no information what so ever about how to proceed in your zen stylish life. The voice of the narrator is clear and comfortable.
